One of the reasons I love this old house. Radiators.
That reminds me of the warming shack at the ice rink when I was young. The smell of scorched wool from the mittens and socks laid on top of the wood stove. Gosh, I'm sure glad I grew up when I did.
I just joined Facebook. What I'd heard about it, up until last weekend, was that it was like those diarrhea-blogs where people bare their soul, and I knew I didn't have enough time in a day to read about everyone else's life and live mine, too.
Then my niece told me that this is how people are staying connected. That they really DO read each other's "walls".
Since I have been looking for a way to have more continuity and connection with my family and friends back in Minnesota, yet no one seems to have time to return phone calls, almost no one is sending e-mails anymore, and I can count on one hand the number of IM conversations I have had this month, I thought I'd give it a try.
So far, I like it. I decided to get out there, and let the younger generation connect with me if they want to. So far, one son, three nieces and a nephew have contacted me, and I've gotten to see photos of their kids, and get in on little tidbits of news from their life, which I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have seen or heard about otherwise.
Just my experience thus far. I was against it, in principle, before. But any way of connecting is better than none, and I think it will end up being a tool I can use to combat some of my cabin fever/loneliness, at least until I can get moved back in the same vicinity with my family and friends.
Going to work this morning, after 10 days of hunting, and realizing that the coldest I've been in 10 days was this morning on my way to work. These dress/work pants suck!
uugh... you face book people. I just joined bc I got 35 request this week from people in my drinking cult. (ok and I hate not knowing what is going on)
so add me if you wish - you can find me as love4vino at yahoo
no kidding! still dragging myself out of bed at noon the last few days (theres more to mine than just the recovery of the hunt though). recovery is 33% of the process.

Im surprised Christian didn't show...
um.. well THAT's not happening.
So I guess I best just focus on memorizing the names of the capitols of spanish speaking countries - so I can ace the quiz.
I think the digging may have something to do with lack of energy too.
Still, I hold out for the Q11.
