I talked to the hider and she said they hid it before the hunt but didn't mention when. However it was hidden near a bench and I looked at that very bench on clue two and didn't see any snow indentation to make me want to dig so it may have been there a while.
You could've said used the wrench to loosen a few nuts on the merry-go-round, and you won't tell which until they spill ALL the details. Muuaaahahahahahaaaaaa!
So...any of you Cooler Chicks play Bunko? I never have, but Brooke (my daughter) is the asst. mgr. at the Pool & Yacht Club in Lilydale. They are having their 1st ever Bunko night on Thursday and she has extended the invitation to us. If you want to go, please PM me so that I can let her know a head count because I understand that they are providing some appetizers.
Thursday, Feb 13th
social time 6:30-7:00
Bunko starting at 7 or 7:30
Pool & Yacht Club on Lilydale Road (lower level of the club)
(I don't think there is any cost to play)
appetizers provided (that's what she told me, anyway)
We had a nice dinner with Brenda, Amy and Brian, my Mom and of course, Inks and me.
Brenda goes back to San Diego tomorrow afternoon before I'm done with work - but I'm going to reserve the chance to head home if she gets what she's after as I'm sure it will be an overwhelming emotional thing for her.
We should know fairly early tomorrow whether or not the agency abides by the court order.
If she gets her records, she will have the ability to have a private investigator friend of hers do a search for her bio dad. Currently, with only his rather common name, no middle initial, a guesstimate of his age, that he might be a college grad and that he was in Colorado at the time of her conception and with a nameless white woman, is very little to go on.
We certainly don't know how that is going to turn out, but its something Brenda desperately wants regardless of the outcome. Therefore, we support her and pray she gets what she needs.
This feels like the eve of another change, another opportunity and another emotional time in our lives.
Bunko is a simple dice game played with three dice at multiple tables.
It can be a lot of fun, provided you have multiple tables to play at. We tried to host it at our house once, and only had enough for two tables. My mother used to have a 'club' of ladies that would get together once a month and play bunko when I was a wee lad. It seems to be more popular with women, but anyone can play it.
You can play it while drunk if you want - it requires less concentration than 'Mexican' or other dice games.
weird - a couple LatterDaySaints came to the door a bit ago.
They offered more than just to tell me about Jesus they offered to help work on the house - I let them go because I was on the phone so I didn't realize their offer til it was too late. darn.
anyone else get offers like that?
I didn't have the heart to ask the big question...
sooo, If you beleive only 144,000 souls will get in to Heaven than why are you telling me? I would think there isn't any room left. I wanna ask soooo badly. anyone know the answer?
I shoulda said I'm sorry, I'm on the phone planning my daughters birthday party. DOH! or is that the Johovahs Witness?
There are only a number of souls in the 'top tier' I believe. You would go to lesser heaven.
"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
The view of heaven according to the Latter-Day Saint movement is based on Section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants as well as 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 in the King James version of the Bible. The afterlife is divided first into two levels until the Last Judgement; afterwards it is divided into four levels, the upper three of which are referred to as "degrees of glory" that, for illustrative purposes, are compared to heavenly bodies.
Before the Last Judgment, spirits separated from their bodies at death go either to Paradise or to Spirit Prison based on their merits earned in life. Paradise is a place of rest while its inhabitants continue learning in preparation for the Last Judgement. Spirit Prison is a place of anguish and suffering for the wicked and unrepentant; however, missionary efforts done by spirits from Paradise enable those in Spirit Prison to repent, accept the Gospel and the atonement and receive baptism through the practice of baptism for the dead.[22]
After the resurrection and Last Judgement, people are sent to one of four levels:
* The Celestial Kingdom is the highest level, with its power and glory comparable to the sun. Here, faithful and valiant disciples of Christ who accepted the fullness of His Gospel and kept their covenants with Him through following the prophets of their dispensation are reunited with their families and with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit for all eternity. Those who would have accepted the Gospel with all their hearts had they been given the opportunity in life (as judged by Christ and God the Father) are also saved in the Celestial Kingdom. Latter-Day Saint movements do not believe in the concept of original sin, but believe children to be innocent through the atonement. Therefore, all children who die before the age of accountability inherit this glory. Men and women who have entered into celestial marriage are eligible, under the tutelage of God the Father, to eventually become gods and goddesses as joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.
    * The Terrestrial Kingdom's power and glory is comparable to that of the moon, and is reserved for those who understood and rejected the full Gospel in life but lived good lives; those who did accept the Gospel but failed to keep their covenants through continuing the process of faith, repentance, and service to others; those who "died without law" (D & C 76:72) but accepted the full Gospel and repented after death due to the missionary efforts undertaken in Spirit Prison. God the Father does not come into the Terrestrial Kingdom, but Jesus Christ visits them and the Holy Spirit is given to them.
    * The Telestial Kingdom is comparable to the glory of the stars. Those placed in the Telestial Kingdom suffered the pains of Hell after death because they were liars, murderers, adulterers, whoremongers, etc. They are eventually rescued from Hell by being redeemed through the power of the atonement at the end of the Millennium. Despite its far lesser condition in eternity, the Telestial Kingdom is described as being more comfortable than Earth in its current state. Suffering is a result of a full knowledge of the sins and choices which have permanently separated a person from the utter joy that comes from being in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, though they have the Holy Spirit to be with them.
    * Perdition, or outer darkness, is the lowest level and has no glory whatsoever. It is reserved for Satan, his angels, and those who have committed the unpardonable sin. This is the lowest state possible in the eternities, and one that very few people born in this world attain, since the unpardonable sin requires that a person know with a perfect knowledge that the Gospel is true and then reject it and fight defiantly against God. The only known son of Perdition is Cain, but it is generally acknowledged that there are probably more scattered through the ages."----wikipedia
Thank you for that theology lesson of the day
Speaking of religion, who has done any research on the predicted apocalypse of 2012? I remember when there was the millennial theories I was all in a panic, I didn't even go out for New Year's cause I was so worried that weird stuff was gonna go down.
I have always been fascinated by/scared of the end of the world as predicted in Revelations, and some of the theories about 2012 are creepy.
I remember listening to some psychic on the radio... probably 8 years ago or so, and he said "I can't see past the year 2012, it's all dark". I have heard a few psychics since refer to the same phenomena. Anyone else as weird as me?
We have friends who had stockpiled supplies in their garage for the Y2K thing that never happened.
They happen to be Mormans. I don't know if there was a connection...but they still have all these boxes of food cans in their garage.
I still think its weird.
And its Jehovah's Witnesses that don't celebrate birthdays or holidays. I have one that works for me. Very nice person. Makes it interesting to celebrate something with 5 of my staff and have to call it something else so she can participate.
Yep. But for everything else besides end-of-time theories. I'll be there all scaredy-like with the ghosties and stuff that goes bump in the night. Well, some of those things anyway.
I watched all the 2012 specials on Science Discovery...
Kinda scary...
I guess if it does or doesn't happen I won't be surprised.
All the shows were based on many many people, The Milan calendar,
Nostradamus, some old Indian Tribe, Some other so prediction people,
Drawings by Nostradamus, The Moon being in the alignment in the middle of our galaxy or Milky way, or some such sh*t. Something about the axis of our planet being turned upside down.....
Wish I would have recorded it all.
This was just on about 10 days before the hunt.
"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."
Part of the 2012 mystique stems from the stars. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. This means that "whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time," Joseph writes.
But scholars doubt the ancient Maya extrapolated great meaning from anticipating the alignment — if they were even aware of what the configuration would be.
Astronomers generally agree that "it would be impossible the Maya themselves would have known that," says Susan Milbrath, a Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History. What's more, she says, "we have no record or knowledge that they would think the world would come to an end at that point."
University of Florida anthropologist Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes "from media and from other people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that are really their own."
I do find the alignment of the sun with the center of the milky way interesting. Life threatening? I doubt it.
Do you get to keep it?
NICE SMILE!
congrats, man!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! perserverence!!!
I knew you'd find it - how deep was it buried?
could you tell if it was buried a long time ago before a snow fall? or they dug a spot and buried it?
It is a GREAT book.
Lots of history mingled within truth.
Fun to read ..I recommend it to all
