No it was in the area NW of the playground. An open area with mature trees and blue benches.

CLUE 1 NORTH SAINT PAUL

Looping around and back again,

It's time for the 2009 search to begin.

Gather your team, it's time to play.

Remember on public land you must stay!

So looping around must mean something, who is the North Saint Paul expert?

You can do what BFG said, or make your pic smaller. If its smaller it will show up as a picture and not a link.
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:15 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

so NSP is on??? Cool!

Looping around and back again,.....

I'd say Tower Park....

Notice 2nd St???

OT

The loop reference makes me think of I-694, just east of NSP, which is a loop of I-94.
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:31 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

That too.
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:31 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

or Helen kinda makes a loop, sort of...
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:33 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

I'm off today and tomorrow, so I think I'll head out to Tower this morning.

This looks like it's the new medallion...

they always seem to present a clue with a twist in it

the year I found it with the twisting slide

last year with the Wizard of Oz twister

and now this one with looping around
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:53 AM Permalink
Brassmonkey

Do they hide it well, like in the snow or just taped to something?
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:57 AM Permalink
mucluck

last year (it think) they hid it so well it was never found :pbpt:
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 7:58 AM Permalink
KITCH

got plowed under..

oh thats right that helter skelter thing always throws us for a loop
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 8:01 AM Permalink
KITCH

need a thread for this hunt????
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 8:01 AM Permalink
Brassmonkey

Perhaps we should..

So usually it isnt hidden to well, but last year was the exception?

Also it says its worth $200 medallion dollars....

Is that some sort of fictitious money?
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 8:03 AM Permalink
Mad_Dach5und

Kinda like Circuit City is still selling gift cards - and advertising them in the stores?
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 8:04 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

Last year they hauled in truckloads of snow to bury it under a mound of snow. Idiots...

Medallion Dollars are only good at certain NSP locations/stores.

Medallion is hidden on public land only within North Branch city limits.

1st Clue

You'll need to be good

And solve all these clues,

If you want to find plenty of cash.

And always remember,

Respect public land,

And please don't leave any trash.

2nd Clue

Winter Fest is always the best,

When everyone joins in the fun.

The treasure is hidden,

So don't feel forbidden,

To look where some little ones run.

North branch is a little far to travel but I will follow the clues.

Steph's dad lives up there...

3rd Clue

A note to you all, as you wander and think,

It's not on a path; it's not near a rink.

The place where it lies is hard to believe

You'll want to think twice, a clue can deceive.

If you look really hard,

You may strike it rich,

In the midst of this clue,

A curve ball type pitch.

4th Clue

If you have a keen mind,

Then it's loot that you'll find

As this clue will tell you alot.

Just look around, amid all the town

You'll be sure to find the X marks the spot.

5th Clue

If you want to be first in this Winter Fest game,

Look for a sign with an Irishman's name.

If you worry too much

You should take it with this,

Life will get better with some cash in you fist.

6th Clue

To make sure you're aiming right for the mark,

By now you have guessed it,

It's Central Park,

Centrally located, lies a box full of sweets,

One sweet little treat!

Medallion found

Dave Nordberg, owner of DominoÂ’s Pizza, and his family found the North Branch Chamber of Commerce 2009 Winter Fest Medallion on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 15.

The medallion was in a candy box located in Central Park.

This is the third time the Nordberg family has found the Winter Fest medallion.
