Thankfully my grandmothers took a long, looooong time to slide into that great void. I think they were both still coherent up until about age 88 or so. Even if you can extend your life a long time, your brain still runs out of gas. It's inevitable.

We bought a gently used are today. The 1994 Pontiac we've had forever is giving up the ghost so we needed to do something.
2008 Impala with all the bells and whistles including heated leather seats, onstar, satellite radio, remote start, flex fuel, and it rides really nice.
We have done our part to stimulate the economy and with the E85 option, we'll be doing something green.
Insurance changed over to the new car. Pontiac parked and ready to be donated to Habitat for Humanity. The donation process has been started over the internet.
That Pontiac has been a good car...probably the best we've ever had in many ways. Regular maintenance, a couple of batteries, some tires and one major brake job. I will miss having her around.

Thank you one and all for my warm burfday wishes! I tell you, it's been a much relaxing hiatus from the past week at work. I tell'ya, I'm earning stars in my crown. I left a job I really liked and did very well at due to a person that just refuses to be a team player and work with anyone.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. For the past week I've had to interface with The Thorn again and things are no different than when I was her co-worker. She just won't work with any one. What a week.
BUT!!! Today's my burfday - NOT YOURS - and it's a good day. Didn't do squat but went out to dinner last nite with a group o'fiends. Nice time. Had calls off and on during the day from other fiends wishing me well.
Life is good. In spite of the effin' btch, The Thorn. Poop on her!
green - my ARE is quite nice - 4 wheels on the ground, a spoiler just becuz, a Bose sound system, I figured out how to set the date and time, other things I've yet to figure out - but lots and lots of BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that Obama money only for brand new cars or also for used? Even the dealership wasn't sure as they hadn't yet had a briefing about the stimulus package.
Heard on the radio that only new cars get the Obama $'s.. Still looks like a cool car, and the heated leather seats will feel nice and toasty on the buns in the winter...

time comsuming and talk about knowing everyone... I find facebook to be something I woulda liked to have invented though...in the sense of it's the 6 degrees of seperation of the future. Im seeing people knowing people that I know that I could never would have known the connection. I don't want to be apart of it but probably eventually will when everyone is on to the next 'as good as sliced bread' site.
