If your dryer is clogged with lint - you've got a SERIOUS fire danger lurking.
I would go further than just checking your dryer vent tubing. Most dryers have a top that opens upward like the trunk of a car - sometimes there is a latch inside the regular door frame - sometimes its a screw you have to loosen. I would definitely make an effort to open that up and look at the drum inside - odds are you'll need the shop vac to clean a boatload of lint out of there. Make sure you clean UNDER the drum by the blower and motor as well - not just what you can see from the top.
When we first moved in, the dryer was not performing very well at all. I cleaned the exhaust tubing and filter frequently. Eventually the electric heater coil at the back of it failed and we called an appliance repairman to replace it. As soon as he popped that open I was shocked to see the potential fireball we had inside that thing. The whole damn machine was so clogged with lint you could barely see the drum! Apparently the former owners were not too good about cleaning the lint out.
If your dryer is still generating heat, it may not be too late - there are usually three or four heater coils in them and they can still work with only two functioning. You just gotta make sure EVERY BIT of lint from the blower to the outside exhaust vent is cleaned out so it can circulate air properly.
sounds Like I mite have to take a mid day Nap tomorrow!!!!
And get my lungs rung out!!!
I went in to the dr today to see what is going on with me more or less the Whole nine yards psy. and find out that the flud buld up in my loungs has gotting WORSE!!! So they are talking about putting a scope down my wind pipe and seeing whats going on in there!! sounds like fun I am trying to talk them out of it!!
I tried pulling the dryer out from against the wall but I'm not strong enough. I did look at what I could but couldn't locate a blockage. I got on that Excel program about a month ago but feel bad to call now and say I need to use it. But I will.
Had a discussion "Donor Relations" this morning with the other two "support" people and our three managers.
Since we always get dismissed from the department meeting when they discuss donor relations - we all thought this was their way of bringing us back into the loop (as we all filled out a survey saying they we didn't feel liek a team anymore)....
WRONG - it turned into an hour long TRAINING on CUSTOMER SERVICE - we felt like we were being attacked... sucky way to start the day.
I sent a joke to a friend of mine who is a big Obama supporter, and the joke was making fun of the economic recovery plan. He went nuts saying how insulting and wrong and right-wing propagandized. Um, sure, but it was funny. What's the point of humor if you can't laugh at both sides?
Loss in property value. I knew it would be going down, but, holy crap! It's a little freakin 2BR townhome that doesn't have a lot of value to begin with!
Estimated taxable value between 2009 and 2010: -$13,400 !!!
I know that means my taxes SHOULD go down next year - but it would be nicer if the MORTGAGE would shrink that much too!
I have received 3 calls in the past week or so - also from a toll free #. The first 2 times when I answered it was as though I was placed into a "conference call" type deal -- with all these other people also saying "Hello?....Hello?" lots of talking, and an occasional answering machine or voicemail in the background.
I'd put the number into google, and found that it was from Dish Network...
So when the phone rang with the same number a few minutes ago, I was excited to put the call on speaker phone and let the rest of the family HEAR what I'd been trying to tell them about. But THIS time it was a real person - Drat!
I just got another call from this number. What fresh hell is this???
I reported it via the Do Not Call Registry - there is a place on that form for complaints. Other times when I've done this, the calls have stopped. I hope so, because this one woke me up at 8:02 this morning. Not nice when I worked until 1:30 this morning.

If the dryer is generating heat, but clothes not drying, I'd check the vent.

Mine made a rather rash decision today. Hope it works out, but I've had a lot of trouble dealing with customers on the phone since...

Paying $1000 for an alternator and having a $700 motor mount give out only a few miles after getting my car back. Coincidence? I think not.

but I do agree with Nick and I do like this personal JOE! 1700 posts
now I have the biggest excuse for when they call and ask if I want to buy their newspaper.
NO WAY! That company doesn't even know how to follow their own rules.
I'm not a "do as I say not as I do" person.
I see a toll-free call coming in.
The number is 866-849-3243.
I *thought* this was the toll-free number from the company I've been doing contract work for.
Wrong!
Here's the recorded message I heard when I answered:
"We're sorry to have disturbed you. This call was intended to be answered by an answering machine."
And the call then disconnected.
That do beat all, eh?
