Being the winning bid on two reserved Twins tickets in the 5th row, section 17, right behind the bullpen! They only cost me $33! Wooo Hooo! I don't even have to pay postage. The seller lives in SSP. I bought a Mauer autographed bat from him a couple of years ago and picked it up at his house.

it's true. his eyes looked so tired and like his body had been through lack of sleep and hurt- the poor guy. he looked painful.

he didn't hardly nudge when I pinched him - more like fright of moving.

he bought sushi and Tylenol.

Had a great time at the Twins game this afternoon! Another come-from-behind game. Detroit scored five runs in the 6th but the Twins answered with six in the 7th to win 6-5.

Road the light rail again. Wasn't as great this time. Jam packed and had to wait for three trains for the return.

the secret is to take the train into downtown and not get off when it changes direction.

Now that you mention it, there were people catching the train going downtown and I wondered why they'd even bother taking the train from downtown to the Dome. They must have been doing that. Thanks for letting me in on the secret!

we did that one year after the hollidazzle.

it's like going to a concert at the x. (one parking ramp elevator is always dead for some reason). park on level 2-1/2, and take the elevator down when coming in. you'll have a spot when it goes back up.
Thu, 05/14/2009 - 7:30 PM Permalink
Clue Master

I kinda do that when parking at the Target Center. Always walk up a flight and go down to catch the next elevator up

Why would they make you get off the train? The pass is good for 2 1/2 hours. They sell an event pass also that's good for six hours.

Has anyone been asked to show a ticket on the rail? I wonder how many people just hop on and ride hoping not to be asked? In Chicago you can't get on a train without having your pass/ticket scanned.

this isn't a joy or an irritant but it was a joy and an irritant - if that makes sense...

okay, I have officially told my daughters "do as I say, not as I do" and "DO NOT EVER EVER EVER do what I just did".

I'm still shaking. probably one of the scarier things I've done in years!

There was a cat meowing for the last 2 days outside. thought it was just my gracie wanting in and attention.

turns out there was a long haired kitty in my oak tree! We called the regular non emergency police cause this is a tall oak tree not just any regular tree in a yard. This tree is higher than my house and the poor kitty was way up there with NO place but down. no branches to crawl down from. Oh, did I mention the police said just place a tin of catfood at the base and the cat will get hungry enough to come down on it's own? My neighbor brought his extention ladder over and I went up slowly. I mean sssssslowly. The ladder did get trapped between 2 little itty branches so I couldn't shove it up higher so I couldn't go up any higher. I wouldn't step up past the last 2 steps because of fear of balance and that was the highest I could go and still hold firm to the branch in case the ladder moved or I shifted and fell in any direction.

I touched the kitty and talked to the kitty. turns out its a "she".

I couldn't get her to come forward to me so I had to reach over and grab her by the neck (mostly fur and skin - poor thing). She would not let go of the tree!!!! I thought she may had fallen from higher up and actually was wedged in because I tugged and pulled. I told the girls I was pulling the cat as hard as I possibly could that I thought her fur and back were gonna rip right off her!!! I had to stop at times inbetween and retry. I called down to my girls and told them I love them just in case. It was really high when youre looking down. I got really sore from pulling her. She didn't scratch or try to bite at me at all. I was amazed because of how hard I was pulling her. Finally I got her up over the hump of the inset tree area, she was screaming and gripping the tree with her claws (BUT NOT ME THANK GOD). I had to sit up there for a moment and contain myself from fear and legs shaking to be sure I was strong enough when I took that first step down to the next step on the ladder. I gently slowwwwly worked my way down each step carefully, talking to the kitty and holding it close. WOWOWOWOW that was hard work and scary!!!!!!

just wanted to post this here so I can come back and read it latter and have it somewhere because I don't want to forget how scary that was.

Washington D.C.'s Metro has entry AND exit gates. You have to scan to get in AND out. A lot of tourists had no clue that the vending machine pass cards didn't always carry enough points to get back OUT of the station.

I looked into that one well in advance - $35 for a 7 day unlimited ride pass. The hell with trying to figure out rates and points and prices (rush hour costs 2x more than lunch hour). In four days on the Metro we probably made $45-$50 worth of trips, so it was well worth it.
