Yarusso Bros Italian Restaurant HALLOWEEN SPECIAL ! Kids (12 & under) eat FREE. No costume required. Fill them up on spaghetti to counter act the candy
Then bring the kids to Ians Halloween Hoopla in Crosby park!
One of my more serious projects (TV=not serious) is starting a company with a friend of mine; we're working on developing a tool that allows to search and track users by keyword on Twitter, the most important application that we see right now is to give schools the opportunity to see what's being said about and by kids to help prevent bullying. I've gotten two major school districts and a police department to take a meeting.
Trouble is, I don't know what kids call each other in a negative way. Can anybody help/ask their kids how they insult kids, or what was said that was truly insulting to them?
you should have one of the research firms or meetings set up where you pay kids to talk about it in a room. Fun to be behind the glass on that one. I will ask Whitney. Good way for me to possibly find out what she's up to anyhow.
I think of Seinfeld when I think of you working on the tv gig -
We have a part time maintenance position at Best Buy in Richfield. Hours are 7:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Monday-Friday. Payrate 12.97. We are not having success in filling this position. If anyone has any ideas, please pass them along.
I know one of the more common ways of serious bullying now is texting and video taping...
fights, lockerroom video, even just talking to a fiend is taped and at schools, buses, parties, etc. and the pranks get video taped than posted via twitter, facebook, and texted etc...
in reality I don't know how you can keep up with all of it...but if you can figure out a way parents, schools, and police would be interested in it.
school hightech bullying is a major topic and a hot topic...heck...I just read something about it today...in katies school magazine
I'm trying to come up with the name of a long-time restaurant on West Seventh Street in St. Paul. It may not even be there anymore.
I am almost positive it was west of Highland Park, but certainly west of Smith Avenue.
It is not DiGidio's or Manny's or The Manor. It was a nicer restaurant, as I recall, and I think it was on the south side of the street.
We went there after my aunt's funeral in 1999. Her only child died earlier this year and my cousin's partner will is planning an interment of ashes for November. We would like to take him to dinner afterwards, as he will be coming alone from Atlanta, and I'm sure this will be a difficult trip for him. Since the restaurant was a favorite of my cousin's, we thought it might be nice to take him there.
If we are striking out with that, does anyone have a favorite restaurant near Acacia cemetary (Mendota Heights near 110 and 55) they would recommend?
Ooooh! Now that you mentioned Mendota, it reminded me of that restaurant down in Mendota that used to be the Parker House! Axel's?
All suggestions welcome. I'll keep a list, and get all the cousins to decide. We'd like to take my cousin's partner out for a nice dinner. In addition to losing his life partner, he had to sort out the estate (there was no will), and it was not fun I'm sure. We're so grateful for all he's done for our cousin.
Please send out healing thoughts to our own me2 as she was just diagnosed with the H1N1 virus today. Poor girl has been pretty sick and off of work all this week. Text her some positive thoughts if you find the time. She could use anything uplifting that you could send her way.
Tell her to rest, drink lots and rest. I've got one staff out with it and she's been sick since last Friday. A couple more kids at the day care have been diagnosed - and one of those was hospitalized. Seems kids really get hit hard.
I'll be sure to pass your comments along as she's even too worn out from coughing so much that she can't even sit upright to get to the computer. I'm afraid that her middle name is Ralph for this week. :ooh: :lipsealed: :barf:
I told myself that I would have a new job by the time my candy basket runs out of candy... I started with a 7lb bag 3 weeks ago and I am down to the last full basket..... better get on that job thing!!
(and no I don't eat the candy - all my co-workers who walk past my desk do)
That's the same reason why my Dad would buy Banana Flips for his lunchbox. Us kids wouldn't touch them. If he had Twinkies, they'd be gone before he got home the 2nd day.
Another Monkey boy!
I figure he will do his first hunt in 2015... by 2020 he should be real good!

Happy for you Brasscat!
nice to see you pop in.
I wonder if this is for everyone or if it did a typing study on me somehow.

OT, I'm hoping for kids under 40...
Thanks gang!
P.S. Kitch I was kidding
I'm over 40, so I don't know any of the up-to-the-minute insults.
But, in addition to the generic bullying, there has always been and probably always will be the insults based on the person's name.
I suppose those would be kind of difficult to build into a tracking program?
I think of Seinfeld when I think of you working on the tv gig -
window licker, porch monkey, short bus rider, moron, queef, douchebag, rug muncher, lesbian mule,
To us it is just the guy with no job in the truck, unless bad things happen.
Stupid mouth-breathing kids with their dumb names... :pbpt:

Regardless, I think Vicky and I need to hit some of these places.
