He is interesting for sure, OT. My son and daughter-in-law gave me one of his paintings for Christmas last year. He is talented...and didn't start painting until after he retired.
Amy's grandfather isn't improving and now has pneumonia and his sodium level keeps dropping so they are upping the salt and have him on 3 different antibiotics to fight the pneumonia and a diruetic to help with the fluid buildup. He hasn't been terribly responsive. The brain doctor that the family met with today is taking a "let's see what happens in the next couple of weeks" approach as there really isn't much to do but see if the brain heals and then evaluate further if things change.
Amy's grandfather died this afternoon. He had taken a turn for the worse, they put him in hospice and then moved him to the Grand Marais hospice yesterday.
The last move was to his town of Grand Marais. He was as close to his home as possible that way...and the family believed that is what he would want.
He is being cremated and there will be a memorial service mid December with the cremains put with one of his daughters.
The family spent the weekend moving his wife in with the Amy's mother. I don't know if that is to be permanent or just for now, but I suspect it will be permanent.
Saw 70% of my family during Deer Hunting, will see 70% of the Wife's family on Thursday... Dunno what holds in store for Christmas...
Gotta admit I DON'T want to see 100% anymore - not that I don't love them, it's just too damn many people! Last Christmas at the In-Laws I had to stuff kleenex in my ear plugs from all the chaotic noise everywhere!
Gotta go see the folks at least once next month because we've got fresh venison cheddarbrats, sausages and pepper stix waiting at the local meat locker... NUMMY!
this reply is for ares: hahahahaha that is eeeexcellent
this reply is for KC and Clue Master: my mom is very supportive, it's her lifestyle that we bonk heads about. There are many facets to every person.
this reply is for maddog: I don't have a large family, I thought you were going down the road of not wanting to be around the other 30% because they drive you crazy. Now that I got but gotta love family. I feel the same way with everyone in the Cooler.

Me2 just wants to catch up with the big boys by increasing her post count from blabbing to everyone as individuals. Kinda like how people are obsessed with how many friends they have on FaceBook or MySpace. :goofy:
btw - you have a big personal Joe coming up yourself
Anybody know of a licensed (home) heating contractor? I need a form filled out and would like to not pay a fortune to have it done...I checked with Mike but he's a commercial specialist.
I have a "need cooler crew help" question. After the passing of my great uncle dec 26, we have a couple of memorabilia nazi peices I was asked to value...sell..including a 3rd reicht 63rd regiment book with Hitler photo and Generalfeld Marshall Walther von Brauchitsch (looks signed).
Are there groups, traders, collectors and where do I find them?

There are no changes. There is a family meeting with the doctors today. Hopefully, we will know something more after that.
Keep the prayers coming.
wow - wait a couple of weeks in the hospital?
prayers and miracles - sorry for the tears
why would they move him 3 times? :frown:

I took a huge break from my mom year ago.
I go see her today and get that stress feeling just knowing I will be at her house. but gotta love mom.

Not to say all of my family isn't supportive, but my mom especially.
