Thanks so much for all of the well wishes guys! We're working hard to catch the loser who did this. Luckily the bullet DID miss his vital organs and got lodged in the fatty tissue of his stomach. A fraction of an inch either way and it would be a different story. We're already working on a fundraiser to get some reward money raised up. I'll keep everyone posted. We're going to need all the help and support we can get. If anyone has any ideas for silent auction items, ect, or if anyone has anything they'd like to donate, please let me know. My email address is nevensonmn@hotmail.com, I'm always on facebook, or you can get me on my cell @ 651-354-2516.
My grandmother passed away earlier today. She just turned 90 and had Alzheimer's. I'm kind of in shock now, even though it was expected. At least she didn't appear to be suffering at all.
So sorry BFG :frown: No matter how hard you try you can never be fully prepared when someone close to you dies. I know.. I went through it with both my grandpa's and my grandma. My condolences to your family.
Also... we have a date/time/location for the benefit for my dad.. we're going to hold it at the Ideal Hall on Dale St, Sunday Dec 13th, 4pm-8pm. There will be food, raffles, music, silent auction, and I think Santa might even pay a visit  Details could change, so I will keep you all posted!!!
I still hope to be out of town that day, however, I will see if I can donate something to the silent auction!
They may find the guy before the 13th though! hopefully!
<edit>just saw the video-
exactly what your dad said at the end, there has to be another way to get $. Idiot also shouldn't have had the gun loaded! he really must have been desperate to be willing to take anothers life. I take it your dad doesn't have medical insurance? sigh... I was lucky last month when I could have been slammed with a $60 grand bill - another 2 months and I wont be either.
and I agree with CM, your family looked loving and they gave a good portrayal of the story- usually the news twists things horribly.
*** One of the get togethers will probably be at The Moose this weekend.
Cooler is forever welcome to come. I love when we can get together before Christmas! speaking of ...Pennys bday is coming up too...Pushing for Sunday Bloodys and Football at The Moose. Too be announced.
but who knows I will let you know I have a few other coolers that are coming out but we hope to be done by sat. if my back holds out!! I am going to be helping all day tomorrow!!!
Hey guys... dad updte. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner but I've been so busy with things, it's just been crazy. Tuesday afternoon, dad was rushed back to the OR. They were putting the tubes back in his nose/throat and they irritated his throat so he coughed. He coughed so hard his surgical wound came open. Well.. while they had him open, they noticed a big section of his small intestine that looked discolored. They waited a day and on Wednesday afternoon removed a 15 inch section of his small intestine. He's still in critical condition in the ICU. He's sedated, on a resperator. We're going forward with the benefit. It'll be Sunday, Dec 13th, from 4-8pm at the Ideal Hall, 1449 Dale St, St.Paul. Attatched is the flyer, so if you can print it out and post/distribute it that would be really cool. Thanks guys!
I have heard some unconfirmed reports that a DARPA red balloon (one of ten across the US today) is located in st. paul. It will only be up until 4pm local time, can anyone in the st. paul area spot it?
