my blackberry up and dying a horrid death, before I could back up my info. Thankfully I had kept my Q, so they were able to restore my stuff as of February. but any newer #'s I dont have.
Co-workers who decide that the weather is getting too bad so they should leave now and then work from home. Of course these are also the people that live the closest to the school!
All the salt that gets thrown out onto the roads so everyone can drive full speed no matter what the weather has dealt us. I'm getting really annoyed at how quickly cars rot away these days.
Slow down when it's slippery folks......it's winter in MN and the roads dictate your speed. Look at the road and not your cell phone.......you will see that patch of ice ahead and drive according to the conditions. Going 10 mph under the speed limit is OK.
ABS brakes and All-wheel drive have lured people into a false sense of security when it's slippery out.
yeah, and the dopes that stop at green lights... Missed smashing up the cache mobile this morning in downtown mpls by a couple inches... now I remember why I don't like going downtown... sheesh just glad there was no snow on the ground then...
Try Fleet Farm - they never seem to run out. Just go in the middle of the week not Saturday afternoon when all the 'paycheck' shoppers just got done cleaning house.
besides searching for that last strand of 100 lights... I spent hours last week sitting on the floor in the livingroom switching burned out lights (even found 1 light out when I was only 3 lights to the friggen end of a 150 strand) - don't know if I posted about that yet... only to find I WAS 150 lights shy in the end.
I had enough white lights to string the whole house but 150 shy of an 8 ft tree :frown:
how bad is it to throw away a tree with the lights left on it?
Target seems to have seriously cut back on their Christmas decorations this year. I was there a week or so before Thanksgiving and there was a lot of pegboard showing. I would estimate they had 1/2 of what they carried in the past. Too many retailers are discounting their stock way too early and Target appears to be taking a very conservative approach. They certainly will maintain their margins.
i'd estimate about a quarter for the light sets. usually i see shipping cartons of them in stock on the top shelves even this time of year. not so much this year. my aunt did inform me that last year because of the economy, that things like lights were only going to be clearanced to a certain point and what didn't sell was going to go back into storage for this year.
If anyone wants white mini lights - I have about 9-10 strands of 150 count icicle lights, most of which still work. I even have a couple strands not out of the box yet.
I decided last year to use the credit card and replaced the whole damn pile with LED Whites. You don't get as many - something like 70 lights instead of 150 per strand. I compensated by doubling-up the hooks in front of the house - the LED icicles are shorter and don't 'hang' very pretty, but they use a helluva lot less juice than the yard lights.
ya know, i consider switching to led's. and everytime i consider it, i look at the price tag and say its not worth the $668 it would cost me to replace my 3900 icicle lights with led's, couple that with another 3000 or so lights in the bushes and its an expensive proposition. not when i spend about 50 bucks in electricity for the whole season. at least not yet anyway.... that and i've yet to see the warm white led's in icicle lights in sufficient quantities to make it even feasible.
hay Iam trying to talk the Other half into Stoping by sometime this weekend to see them all!! and BS for a few mins if thats ok! Iam going to have her bring her camera!!
I was going to put my lights up last week. Then my coworker had a stroke and I'm stuck working 12 hour shifts the rest of the year. And not just on one shift either. Next week is 11am to 11pm. Then Christmas week is 6 days at 6pm to 6am. Then Newyears week is 6am to 6 pm.
I want a new job...
No lights are going up at my house this year. :coolfrown:
A neighbor who insists on parking right smack-dab in front of my shoveled walkway to the street, so when the plows come by I don't get plowed and can't use my walk to get to the street! She lives across the street and her preferred spot RIGHT SMACK-DAB IN FRONT OF MY WALK isn't even directly across from her apartment. It's not like there aren't parking places closer to her door, because there are.
It's a conspiracy I tell ya! And yes, she's there again this morning.
Suppose when you shovel your walk, you could pile the snow ON TOP of her car, with extra over the other side by driver door so she has to step into a big pile of snow... Just a thought...
hope something works out!
so get anything fun!
at least you got some practice in.
also irritates: waiting
hate waiting.

Not to mention the idea that a big freakin' SUV or 4WD Truck is easier to handle and stop in slippery conditions... NOT!
Please warn before attaching the 'evidence'! PLEASE!
And I'm not gonna show you any pictures. Well not gonna show any more of you the pictures anyway.
am i the only one who noticed that target didn't buy nearly as many light strings this year as they have in the past?
