What turns your crank

Terry

I heard today that the folks from my interview on Tuesday were quite impressed, but feel it's necessary to post the position externally to be sure they have found the best candidate as opposed to the only candidate.

That means some time yet before I know and in the end, I still love the job I have and am comfortable there. And considering the work that is left to get done prior to April 1st, it's more comfortable waiting at this point for me so I'm not so scattered.

Thanks, but no thanks ares. I'll take my chances.

Either way I'm okay with it. I love my current job, and though it's changing, I'm comfortable in it and it fits me.

Getting a job with my $$$$ would be nice, but would I love it? Don't know.

You know, when you posted about interviewing for this job I almost replied, "Good luck, if that's what you want", because I knew you loved your present job. But then I thought that sounded kind of negative, so I changed my post.

But everything crossed... if that's what you want.

Dinner, My boyfriend and I, along with a few friends and the kids are having a fun night tonight...

ribs, with corn, potatoes and crab in a crab boil - some good crusty french bread and a little salad.

then a board game or two.

who says a tuesday night dinner has to be boring?

Amelia Earhart.

I just finished her biography written for kids and spent the last 2 nights doing a project to go along with a book report. Such a great role model with a can do attitude.

Ares, haven't had one in a month, since my Mom's stroke on Christmas Eve. I've tried Tylenol PM, Advil PM, Wine, Xanax, etc. (not all at once, mind you!)

Still don't sleep through the night. I'm with you, though. I would love, just one night of non-waking, calming, uninterrupted sleep.

I enjoy: misty rainy mornings, clear nights when I can see the moon, sports (SPURS, BUCKEYES, COWBOYS, BENGALS), my job (yes) and, most of all, my family.

sorry you are having trouble sleeping.

For very different reasons than you I couldn't sleep last night I cried so hard for hours I was nausiated and gagging. I don't know if that happens to many when they cry so hard or lack of sleep but thats what happens to me.

I wish I could give you a hug for your mom. hope she is getting better. Try Lunesta (think there is a generic) I couldn't refill mine cause the price changed and it cost too much with my crappy insurance now, but it works wonders!!! maybe the doctor has samples.

the moon has been beautiful the last few nights. when we were out hunting with the clear sky and waxing moon? very cool.

Enjoy: I inherited an Access database for our billing for our landowners association up north. I had to learn it on the fly and over the years have managed not to muck up things and actually get things to work and fix things our secretary messes up.

With Allison's help, we have had some things added and fixed as part of our billing has changed over these years.

But every year, the archiving and setting dues for the coming year is always a struggle to get it right. This year - like clock work! I got that database ready for the 2010 season - without a hitch.

Today my mother received an email - supposedly from Ben Bernake - stating something to the effect that she had a huge amount of money coming and all she had to do was verify her banking information. That's irritating.

What is the enjoy is that she recognized it as a scam and is reporting it to the Attorney General. Anyone else have an idea where she could report this?

She's 82 years old and smart as a whip, clear of mind and furious that others are going to fall for this and potentially lose everything in their accounts.

She simply rocks.

No. It was supposed to be 10.5 million dollars.

I said that might be a saving grace to those that are tempted, as most people would know that was highly unlikely.

My mom joked then that she had no doubt she was worth that much, but only she knew that.

my aunt got suckered into a scam like this because it was only like $30,000 or something she was suppose to get rather than the millions some try to use in the scams.

Free lower level tickets to the upcoming SPURS game against the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 28. Free parking pass included. My part-time boss treats me well. I'm still not lowering my hourly rate, though.

that reminded me - Ive got free wolves tickets coming up.... i get to choose any game, and i get 2 free lower level reserved seats..,,

the guy I normally deal with for Raw/Smackdown, never came through this last time - so he offered them to me to make up for it....

I didnt tell him, but i got better seats for Raw, then he probably would have gotten me anyhow...

As of right now, I'm thinking I'll probably use them for the Lakers, in April....
Sat, 02/06/2010 - 2:11 PM Permalink

I would definitely take the Lakers (make him pay...). That's an afternoon game here. As a matter of fact, my PT boss didn't offer me that game.

Now, I'm reconsidering my decision not to raise my rate. Not that I want to see Kobe that much anyway.

But, it's a very legitimate reason for a raise in my rate!

Call in that golden ticket Nick!

I would rather see Boston, but they wont be back here the rest of the season.... so for me its either the pistons or lakers....

might as well get my moneys worth, outta those free tickets!

No kidding!

My avatar is an authentic autographed Spurs basketball. Robinson, Duncan, and (I think) the entire team from "back in the day" when Steve Kerr played for the Spurs. Gift from my sister when we were speaking.

But, it's something I enjoy!

Make the call, Nick!

wow! that is pretty sweet..... I was wondering about your avatar too, lol...

One of my prized items is an autographed baseball, from almost the entire roster of the 1992 Twins team...

yes, the year AFTER they won their last series... but still...

I've also got a metal folding chair, that I've taken to numerous wrestling autograph signings... So far, the only guy who's turned it down, was The Rock, for whatever reason....

Kane and X-Pac wanted to pose with it, for a picture... that was pretty sweet...

Well, we Texans (even a transplanted Buckeye like me) get cold when it's below 50 or so.

It's in the 40's now, and Cliff started a fire in our small fireplace.

We are officially "weenies" I guess!

I miss Ohio. Even after almost 25 years in Texas, I miss OHIO! Give me snow.

Instead, I'm ordering roses! We only have spring for about a week here. Then it transitions into summer. IMMEDIATELY!

100F. I hate it.

This belongs in both threads, Crap.
