I wish I was getting paid for the soccer, actually I kinda am, that and the SB. I manage two of the company teams, so I get a lot of 'shopping' and excursion time out of the deal.

awww CM - you are so sweet. He's actually excited to get to come with me to MN, will be quite a shocker after I take him to Mexico for our first trip - warm, sun, beach.. to cold, snow and shovels :0)

dunno about the schnapps - he's more of a whiskey drinker like I am (he even has his own flask!) and I need to take him ice fishing. He's a good fisherman, but has never been ice fishing.

Ya, he's a highway patrol motorcycle cop actually... Although that day, he was in a car. I need to get a photo of him in his riding pants - he's just adorable!

I'd be hard pressed to say I've ever been happier - I'm pretty sprung.

Nice to see you back and read of your adventures. Has NOLA mostly recovered from the hurricane & floods?

Be careful of your knees with all those sports activities. Girls have a much higher rate of tearing the ACL, LCL, meniscus, etc.....be sure to do lots of stretches before starting!! And of course I know you know!!

(Guess that's just the mother in me and knowing what my daughter went through!)

Your BF sounds (and looks) amazing. I love the pic of him with the bass. It looks like he has cast-off a magical arora with that sky behind him.

Welcome back!

NOLA, hasn't really recovered - the french quarter has, and most of the 'upper' end districts. there has been recently more discussion about how they flooded the 9th ward (poor) to spare the rich, and after getting to really go in and about these areas, I dare say there could be some truth to much of it.

I'm good to my knees - they already look like swiss cheese from all the catching I did in SB as a kid - and actually - you should NEVER stretch prior to athletics, you have a higher chance of tearing something if you aren't warmed up. I usually warm up, play and the stretch after to reduce soreness - so far so good. :pbpt:

and yes, he is adorable, it almost looks like a rainbow behind him in the photo. That was him and his bass. We caught 35 fish in less than 2.5 hours - most were sunnies, he was very proud of his bass tho.

this one is prolly my favorite photo of us, because it shows that he gets me. I am the queen of sticking my tongue out in a serious photo with my friends, and what did he do? he got me when I least expected it. I blew this one up, and put it on the wall in my office, cause everytime I see it - it makes me laugh.

he gets me' target='_new'>he gets me

Sunny - what are a couple of the better, or your favorite, resorts in Cabo?

Thanks for the feedback

ok - I suck, I didn't respond to this until today. I am actually not a huge fan of Cabo, because it's so americanized, As much as I enjoyed my trip, after seeing other parts of Mexico, it's a little depressing. 1) the locals don't really seem to like you because we have turned where they live into america below the boarder.

We went a few blocks off the main strip and had good seafood but it was in a place that I'm sure most americans wouldn't go. At the resort (we stayed at Riu Sante Fe) we made friends with a bartender who told us about the taco wagon the employees eat at that is right outside the gates. The guy spoke zero english, but for 5 of us it was $18 american dollars for the best dinner we had down there>

Looking at the mexican goverment, and cartels and such right now, places like puerta vallerta, cancun etc that are 'mainland' mexico aren't very safe for americans. Its not as bad as say Juarez, but it's not a good place to go. Sticking in the Baja region (and I'm not sure why this is, but i've heard it from a number of sources) is best because it's not as corrupt and they realize that the entire area needs tourist $ to stay afloat (so it's somehow left alone more)

although places like rosarita beach b/c of it's proximity to Tijuana are no longer safe - 6 americans were murdered infront of a night club less than a week before my last visit down that way.

Ensenada, Puerto Nuevo, the Guadalupe Valley, are all still authentic and tourist safe/friendly if you are looking for what 'mexico' really is.

The Resort was very cruise ship like, it was all inclusive, people were friendly, and the beaches were beautiful. The food was asian, italian and steakhouse - had I not looked outside of the resort I would have thought I was in america somewhere - if that is what someone is looking for as a vacation (It was beautiful!) then I'd say the Sante Fe Riu (Or Palace Riu which is next door) is a great deal, it's about $800 from US including airfare, and all accomodations, food, liquor, transport etc for 1 week)

That is what I was looking for, thanks. I love resort all-inclusive. Warm, sunny and safe destinations. I was seeing prices of $650 with the all-inclusive, air and transfers back when I posted that and was thinking of going. I have stayed at RIU resorts in Dominican Republic and Cancun. They are nice.
