Off to the Xcel again today to watch my grandson wrestle in the state tournament! Zumbrota is wrestling for consolation this morning. So exciting, but wrestling is a tough sport to watch when you have a loved one in there.
I have been offered a second interview for the job I first interviewed for earlier this year. It's more money, but I think also much more stress. It's morphed into something I don't think is really for me. On Monday, I'm going to decline the interview because I'm no longer interested. Money isn't everything.
Enjoy: Knowing your new hair cut IS good when your 21yr old son (who notices nothing) comes around the corner and says "WHOA, Mom you look great - cute hair"
I started at Dunwoody 4 years ago on March 20. That year when they learned my birthday was on the 22 they had a cake for me.
The next year they also had a cake for me. Then I was given the task of getting cards and treats for birthdays...
Second year they completely forgot.
Third year around 1pm I received flowers from my husband, a co-worker stopped and read the card on my desk - her face went white... I got a cake the next day.
Here we are year four.. got to my desk today and a co-worker proudly came up and said Happy Birthday... I thought she was going to die when I smiled and said thank you, but it's NEXT Monday...
(doesn't anyone read their calendars anymore?)
At least they are getting closer - I said I don't mind celebrating today... boss wants to freeze the cake until next week - Yuck! I say lets eat cake today!! Makes for a good start to the week...
Going out for coffee this morning with old friends from GRADE SCHOOL! I got a phone call out of the blue last week from an old classmate and we decided to look up some former classmates and get together. What fun! I hope I can recognize some of these people.
psst. kat. you might wanna know this for your event planning business and all, but most bakeries make up cakes for large events in advance and put them in the freezer, decorating them just before the event takes place.
I'll have you know, there were over 40 kids in my class at St. Augustine's. :pbpt:
Had a blast! Hadn't seen some of those people since 8th grade graduation. Others I see frequently. Several of the girls from grade school are in my core group of friends who take yearly vacations together.
Oddly enough, all of the men were married and non of the women were. I said we need to mix up the group a little to make this work.

I collected lots of emails and we plan to get together regularly. What fun to reconnect and enlarge my social circle.
I'm walking around Bestbuy the other day in the computer aisle. I'm wearing my winter carnival fleece that I got with me2. One of the geek squad people comes up to me and says "Excuse me, this is going to sound wierd, but do you dig?" I stared at her for a second and then Wayne Campbell said "Why yes, I do dig." Turns out she recognized me! She's the Geek Squad supervisor at my local Best Buy and a lurker on here.
Now to week 2 I cant see how so many people can be out of work?? I found tons of jobs Lots I could not have taking unless the Money was alot Higher!! because of the drive but other then that if I would have lived closer that way I could have had about 10 jobs by now!!
Friday night (9:30) was told to grab my purse and get into the truck. 15 mins later was in a Hotel room with snacks, roses, dark chocolate, champagne and everything else I needed.. (he checked in earlier and even grabbed my personal stuff)...
It was all about me all weekend - whatever I wanted!!
I sincerely love hearing stories like that. That's what its all about. If you don't feel you could possibly receive a nice gesture like that or feel that you have little desire to do something like that then you need to re evaluate what's going on in your relationship.
I really think that when all the facts are sorted out we'll find out he was running a very complicated (read well hidden) Ponzi scheme. Now there's a surprise.

I'm happy I've made that decision.

My 11yr old and I are going to go check out the RV that we are renting for our road trip at the end of April.
For some reason whenever I think about the RV and the trip the theme song from National Lampoon Vacation pops into my head. :goofy:
