I went to the Harriet Island bash - or reopening. There are over 100 plaques on the walkway dedications to whomever - lots of dedications, and of course their circular driveway.

Is it that no one thinks it is at the frog pond, or is it that you arent in the know?

Deb B. for what it's worth (not much, believe me), Harriet Island is still on my list

I love the EAST VIEW PLAYground, espcially if the have "Playing might put a smile on your face" That is one of the best guesses so far!

Man, I can make alot of them work out but that's just it, I have to make them work! The clues should fit fairly easy. Right? I haven't been out to Como yet though.I'm going to go out and scout soon. Thanks Tim.

While you're at the EAST VIEW PLAYground, why not look in the CIRCULAR slide or maybe the CIRCULAR tire swing?

seriously people, if your in the area of Palace rec center, its worth getting out of your car to check out, cause alotta stuff fits. Hockey rinks, and the rainbow and ice castle on the wall, and horse shoe pits, view street, jefferson street, baseball fields.

I think the next clue will start to make all these others make sense - there are a few good ones - Palace, Como, Harriet, Eastview, one could go nuts! Oh well, I am saved by the time. I have an appt at 7pm

Or maybe we should quit overanalyzing the first four clues, when have they given away all this information. The explainations come out and say: clue one and two said it was in a St. Paul Park and not to destroy property and so on and so on, and then clue three and four have some minuted detail about the area of the park, nothing about where in the park or what it is in or anything like that.

beth- my posts werent directed towards you. I was just kidding! it is a on running joke that we(coolercrew) have. i always tell newbies that it is there, but only if the first and only post they make is "so, where is it". it works, because every year you can make the clues fit.

there is a playground in Harriet, and on your toes could mean it is near all those dedication plaques you step on - if you haven't been there - the plaques are part of the walkway.

Birdie, Do you think it would be worth looking at? It's not that big but either is palace.

Yesterday I went out and checked out Oscar Johnson Arena In Energy PARK - on DeCourcey CIRCLE - it had a large PARK-ing lot and had alot of chain -LINK fencing??? the arena would be clue one "TOES" and clue three "FIGURE" skating - and clue four - "PLAYING" could be hockey?? Not a park or a rec cent BUT a public Arena in Energy PARK?? what do you think?

Hisory of the JOE, part 1...

Joe medallion was a highly mischievous charecter on this message board in 98, which was the first year of the cooler. He harrassed people, and was an overall pain in the button. He is famous for posing several one letter posts, so he could make a landmark post, like lets say 250, or 2500, or 25000!!!! He did it to get to any number divisible by 10. The tradition stuck, and now we post a JOE whenever the opportunity arrises. Other Joes include...

Palindrome Joe- 1991, or 4554 or 19191, anything that is a palindrome.

Double JOE- 4545, 7878, nuff said

there are all kinds of JOES you will see them all the time

Hey, if you mess it "steer" it spells "Trees" and the word "Leaves" is in #4, and with "stay on your toes" maybe its in a tree.

You should see me. I am cooking dinner, making salad for pot-luck for work tomorrow, playing nintendo with my son and checking the chat line. I love it. This is my first time chatting on the net. . I need to get the chores done so I can get out to the parks.

My thinking so far has to be Palace and Hidden Falls. Still early but that are my early thinkings

Wed, 01/24/2001 - 5:25 PM Permalink
Gonna find it

how about this take....another name for a golf course is links..."Cicular thinking is 1 way of linking"....now how would you play golf with a circular object??....well I'll tell you....Frisbee golf! Frisbees are circular & there is a disc golf course at Highland Park. Also the tee for hole #6 is down in the "Pit" as we disc heads call it, however it is quite a depression. Disc golf targets are round with lots of links of chain on them....

Anyone agree?

has anyone thought about park by the capitol?

dueling could be reference to the house and senate I94 runs east west gold statues circle dome of the capitol bold and cruel who else would think the governor is bold and cruel? pioneer press? thinking could be in reference to Universtity Ave

hmm what else?

Wed, 01/24/2001 - 5:28 PM Permalink
icecream man

im sure you could see the first national bank sign from the capitol grounds too

No user inform…

Well, I am surprised there in no talking about a "smile face." Usually, these early clues talk about either streets or places near the actual park. So I was thinking about maybe there is a day care across the street which has a smile face on it's sign and a playground outside. But it's too early to know anything yet. Maybe these clues are just more difficult and only thing they are trying to tell us is is that the park is either in west or east St.Paul rather than north or south. I don't know.

Its At Hidden Falls, in one of the clues it said something to the likes of not in sight well not in sight also means it would be hidden and its right by the airport which if i recall seperates St Paul and Minneapolis. Look in clue 3 with the circular and linking, well take the letter C from the first line and link in to the bottom what do you get? CITY. Hidden falls links the City St Paul to Minneapolis!!!!!

Wed, 01/24/2001 - 5:35 PM Permalink
Gonna find it

i'm sure you can see the "banks" of the river at alot of places too. & I think Harriet is now split into an east & west halves... it seems like there must be another road that goes into the area where they are constructing that ampitheater or band shelter or whatever it is, But playing could refer to playing music, as in a band.
