The life of Irena Sendler was one of great testimony, one of courage and love, one of respect for all people, regardless of race, religion and creed. She passed away peacefully, knowing that her message goes on. Our hearts and prayers go out to her worldwide family. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. Born in Warsaw, Poland, she lived most of her young life in Otwock. Irena Sendlerowa led the rescue of 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto and those hiding in the Warsaw area, during the Holocaust in World War II. She was recently nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Her legacy of repairing the world continues, as good continues to triumph over evil. Irena Sendlerowa was 98 years old.

Siamese
Young,
Siamese mix cat was rescued Sat. May 2, after 3 days in a very tall tree on 39th St and 1st Ave So. in Minneapolis. Young cat, sapphire blue eyes, very very loving and sweet, cream with mottled chocolate points and mask, and chocolate in coat. I can not have pets where I rent, so kitty was brought to the Golden Valley Animal Shelter late Sat. Appears in fine health, ate and drank a lot, must be an indoor cat, absolutely could not figure out how to get down the tree. Fortunately my neighbor is a fire fighter and has a 30 ft. ladder.
we kept the kitty inside for a couple of days. everywhere it went it had to be up high. Whitney let it go outside and we haven't seen it since. but it was an experience thats forsure.
