Just a terrible, terrible problem. I am desparate for help.
My wife's internship program has a line into the manufacturer for throwback and NFL authentic jerseys in China to order the $200 versions with the actual lettering and numbering (not the printed on versions you buy at the game) on it. We ordered a bunch for me (Mean Joe Greene '75, Kirby Puckett '85, Bert Blyleven '79, Dan Fouts '82, Ray Nitchke '69, Merlin Olsen '65, etc.) and for gifts for family members. Two of those were supposed to be XXL Adrian Peterson #28 Vikings jerseys, but they screwed up the order, so we have 2 XLs.
So, I need help.
First, Do you know anybody that wants an authentic Adrian Peterson Jersey, size XL? (Note: The chest size is 52, which is generally XXL). You would have to reimburse me. Cost: $25.
Second, If I got enough interest to make it worthwhile to do an order independently, I would do so. Shipping from the factory in China is $40, but if there's enough people ordering enough jerseys it tends to wash out. Would anyone be interested? There's baseball, basketball, football, and hockey jerseys.
if i didn't have so many projects going on around here (just remembered i still have to put up the outside trim from when we did the bathroom 4 years ago, as an example), i'd be right up there to help ya mike.
It won't be until fall at the earliest. Gotta plan it out and start collecting up materials still as well as site prep that has to be done. I have some materials at Pennys Dads house that I can use, but need to store for a while, and move up north. He also had a skidsteer I'm gonna haul up there to do the site prep. It will be a long process...
It may turn into a cabin instead of a storage shed...
Ya If I am not back to work I Am in! Mike I owe you a ton! your a great guy and a good friend!! so just keep me posted On facebook is most of the time easier!!
Hey Mikey, Depending when it is I may be able to slot it in and make a weekend out of it with a trip to HINCKLEY! not just the casino... but also a history research trip. Is Penny having pole dancing classes for the women so we can be of more help? just kidding. um, no I'm really not...yes, I am. Keep me posted though.
Hey guys long time no "see". Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on divorce lawyers or how one goes about getting free or reduced cost legal aide for divorces. I'm clueless, me and Mike have decided to get a divorce and while I would hope we could do this easily and painlessly I know he's going to try to screw with me financially like he has for our entire marraige and I don't want to get the short end of the stick. He's already raising a stink telling me if I leave the kids with him I wouldn't need child support so I should just give him primary custody.
Mad Dog sorry to hear about you and your wife :frown: Divorce sucks
yeah the problem with that is the past 18 months have sucked for work for him so there is no use trying to get much from him....you just can't sqweeze water from a dry well.....
The best Lawyers are the ones who don't stick their nose too far into your business. The more you can do without them, the better off you are. Every phone call, fax and e-mail is billable (and profitable) for them. I'll send you a PM later of my lawyer - she doesn't do anything unless I ask her to, which is what a responsible bloodsucker SHOULD do.
The Mrs' lawyer just sent over a letter a few days ago with a rather ridiculous proposal on it, which I can almost guarantee was invented by him to get a little more cash out of her tab. I warned the Mrs. that every goofy idea he comes up with will make him money but won't help her out in the long run. There's no limit to ridiculous claims that can be made by the other party, but it does cost them as much (or more) than you to deal with them.
Kids and custody is always going to be ugly, and is virtually a requirement to get lawyers involved. Just call ahead and make sure you have ALL your stuff together before each meeting so you don't waste billable time searching through old files to find vital paperwork. Good luck.
Ok one more thing I'd like suggestions on.....I haven't had to look for an apartment since I graduated high school and even then I didn't really do anything other than listen to a friend of mine who just said move here it's close to the U of M....yeah that was a night mare had to worry about getting shot every night I wanted to leave the "crack stacks" - YEah those color panel apartments of 94 and Cedar in Mpls...don't live there!! Anywho i digress....when looking at apartments what should I be looking for as far as redflags. If I was house hunting I'd know but apartments I don't have any experience other than that one fateful scary ass year in Mpls.
I know those crack stacks LAM. Lame place if you're not in a gang. I suggest the Lexington Heights Apts in Mendota Heights. I liked them back in the day and they still look as if they're kept up. Sorry about the falling out too. Sad time but transition can be a time of introspection as well.
Sorry to hear the sad new L and A Mommy. Just went through this my self Dawg and I decided no lawyers and just filled out the papers our selves we split custody and I gave her the house so my little girl could stay in her house. Good luck and stay strong
When I've looked at apartments in the past I've used sites like Rent.com and there are others too. You can get a lot of information about different complexes there. I imagine though there are other smaller buildings that don't advertise there that may be cheaper (but not necessarily better). Are you looking for something as cheap as possible or can you do something a bit nicer? I used to live in a complex called the LaBlance apartments in St. Paul by Arlington High School. It was at the end of a series of dead end streets so it was pretty quiet and relatively cheap. If you're not sure about an area, maybe ask a cop their opinion.
I have to go cheap but I don't want to go so cheap that I end up in a horrible place. I'm going to do some walk throughs this weekend but not sure what I should keep an eye open for as far as negative aspects of apartments.
PS. I'm looking for a dinning room table and chairs set (preferably not a standard wood set), bunk beds, and living room furniture couches and end tables. If anyone knows anyone looking to sell these type of items cheap let me know I'm watching Craigslist as well but thought I'd throw it out there see if anyone knew anyone who was trying to get rid of stuff.
I have a dresser, coffee table, and two chairs that go together to make a mini-couch just sitting in my garage that I have no use for. I'd just have to confirm with my girlfriend that she isn't saving it for something but I doubt it. I don't have a way to transport it though.
Hey AW got pictures or where are you at I can come take a look?
Anyone know of any cheap storage areas or have a space where I could store some stuff until I get into an apartment...I'm hoping sometime in July but might not happen until Aug 1st but I want to start collecting house hold items and furniture I'll need now so I'm not scrambling at the last minute.
I know this gets said a lot but it's soo freaking true YOU ARE ALL AWSOME and I count my lucky stars that I know all of you and can lean on you during this time.
OK so as long as the apartment gets my background/credit/whatever back by Wednesday I'm planning on moving funiture and boxes on the 1st. Anyone want to volunteer to be some muscle for me? Le me know. If for some reason they can't get the background check and stuff back by Wednesday then I'll move next week instead.
ok Change of plans Moving on Friday morning. I need at least 2 more people to help load and unload the Uhaul to make it go smoother. PLEASE if you can help me out starting at 8:30am Friday I would be forever in your debt...ok maybe not forever but I'll let you come swimming in my pool or hot tub some time
and that you were trying to be a friend, and help him as well....
The strength of your integrity is awe inspiring.
I hope you two can reconcile when he gets his shit together, which I hope happens sooner, rather than later.

I'm terribly sorry you have to experience this!
sounds like asshole tax is in order, i.e., alimony. sorry i can't point you in a direction of cheap because they never are.
