Anyone watch the parade in NO? We watched it on CNN's website. Only New Orleans could throw a party like that.

Been to NO before, and (to be honest) glad I wasn't there tonight! Memories.....sheesh!

that reminds me.... does anyone know what local access channel the Winter Carnival Torchlight Parade was/will be broadcasted over the next week or so? I'd like to see if they show Jake and anyone boo-ing him.

I just happen to be flipping channels a bit ago and came across the end of the parade with all the vulcs! on access channel 19 here.

weird. the vulcs are taking their masks off.

The Minnesota Twins clinched the AL Central division title Tuesday night with the combination of a 6-4 come-from-behind victory over the Cleveland Indians and a loss by the Chicago White Sox in Oakland.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins clinched the AL Central division title Tuesday night with the combination of a 6-4 come-from-behind victory over the Cleveland Indians and a loss by the Chicago White Sox in Oakland.

The Twins scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally from a 4-2 deficit and beat the Indians. Then they hung around the Target Field clubhouse to watch as Chicago lost 7-2 to the Athletics.

"These guys aren't going to let me go home," said Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire, who picked up career win No. 800

A few hundred hearty fans hung around the Twins' dugout to celebrate and several of the players returned to the field to urge them on.

It is the first time in three years the AL Central hasn't come down to a one-game playoff. The White Sox beat the Twins in 2008 and the Twins beat Detroit last season.

Notes

• Josh Hamilton said he hopes to return to the Texas Rangers' lineup before the end of the regular season despite tests revealing the slugger has two broken ribs.

Hamilton is the majors' leading hitter (.361) and a top candidate for AL most valuable player, but the outfielder hasn't played for the AL West-leading Rangers since crashing into a wall while making a catch Sept. 4 at Minnesota.

Hamilton was optimistic after the source of his rib pain finally was diagnosed during a second day of evaluation with Dr. Robert Watkins in California.

"There's really no difference in the treatment for it, whether they're broken or just bruised," Hamilton said. "It's mostly just good to have confirmation of why I was in so much pain."

• In the NL West scramble, San Francisco and San Diego each won, keeping the Giants in the lead over the Padres by a half-game. Colorado lost 3-1 at Arizona and is 2 ½ games behind San Francisco.
