Going to the Old Log on Saturday night to see the play The Dixie Swim Club with six of my girlfriends. Like mrmikey, these are friends going back to high school and a few from grade school also. On Wednesday this same group is going up to Madeline Island for a few days and then back down to Grantsburg to one of their cabins until Sunday.
We plan a trip of some kind every year. We've gone to Kiawah Island, SC, Cannon Beach, OR and Sun Valley, ID in previous years, but I'm enjoying this week long, event filled week just as much as those more exotic trips.
Getting VIP tickets to the Vikings DVD premier at MOA tonight. Seen a number of alum as well. Talk about getting you pumped up for this season. It showcased all 50 years. Very cool. Especially when watching it with the players in the same general area we were. It goes on sale tomorrow. A definite must have. I'm sure it'll be a big hit around the holidays.
heh. i just saw some posts on facebook wondering if we're gonna have a 15th reunion this year. after the fiasco (someone paid an organizer to do the work for it) from the 10th reunion, evidently few people showed up presumably because of the admission fee; we were out of town but it would have cost something like 150 for the two of us to go. for that price i'd have just showed up and shook a few hands outside the place .
the first suggestion was no; we've got facebook and have mini-reunions all the time. i'm always amazed at how many classmates of mine live down in this neck of the woods these days.
Got the good news my myself about 11am today after a lot of apprehension and issues with the surgery. They didn't find any more cancer in either the lymphnodes or the colon after removing them. Great news for the mind but still have a way to go for the surgery info. Love you all for your support and compassion. I should be back to normal following a much needed celebration following my recovery.
Happy and relieved, CM! Hurry up and get better now. There's lots of leaves changing out there. The little white church on Upper 55th between Babcock and Robert is holding out, waiting for you. Drove past there today and mostly green.
What do you have at home? Mine dropped 7Mpbs when I went from cable to DSL, but I have a lot less trouble from the DSL and I hardly notice the difference during downloads. Unless they are huge.
Yippy-Skippy!!!!! I just knew that's the news you would get! So thrilled for you, for us all. Life just would not be right w/o you to ride my caboose.
I lite a candle for you at that place Eags found. I made sure mine was as big as your huge deck... Guess it worked!
God bless you, 'Master. I am doing cartwheels for you. Love and hugs.
Qwest dsl. The lowest bandwidth plan they have. I was hoping the roommates would upgrade it after canceling the satellite service. It's "supposed" to be 1.5 megabit, but most tests I run clock it more like 800 kilobit.
fast internet basically... If I tether it or use it as a wifi hotspot, I could just use the phone for internet.
Smart phones are getting more popular (iphones and the like) and much more integrated with the internet. Most apps use the net to store user data, or pull in information. Eventually the need for higher speed connections will be necessary, just to supply the data being used.
Granted 4G now is through a service called wimax. And the radio sucks power down pretty fast. It will drain the battery in a couple hours. All the extra speed isn't worth much until they can either make a more efficient radio, or a better battery. All in good time, I'm sure.
