all the manuals i've ever seen that are given have pictures of things that the owner will worry about themselves. if you want to know where crazy things like starters are, you have to pay chilton or haynes. and oh yes, that's like the first thing i get when getting a new vehicle.
I have a chain hoist, I lifted the front end of Stacy's old Grand Am off the ground on accident one day with it... Thought the rafters were coming down when I heard the chain jump a link...
several years ago a buddy of mine's grandma passed away. his parents, with the inheritance, traded in their house in st paul for a sall hobby farm in cottage grove. she wanted horses, he wanted a big garage. picked up a used two-post hoist for a couple of grand and had it driven into the slab inside one of the garage stalls.
I lit one, and Green posted she lit one. Might have been one or two others. But not many people hang around the cooler these days, so probably it wasn't seen by many.
After talking wit Jana a bit last night; sounds like Cluey has fatigue, lots of nausea, some mood swings, and a bloated belly. If he had swollen or tender breasts, we'd be looking at a completely different diagnosis...
Right now it sounds like he's pretty dehydrated, so any other symptoms of pain and fatigue are going to be enhanced significantly because of being low on fluids. I've been there - even a simple headache feels like a migraine. Hospital seems to be following their due diligence, keeping tests going for infections and stuff. Just time to cross fingers and wait it out.
I can't post on facebook this update cause no access to it from here...I'm sneaking the nurses computer to post this....
sigh, everything maddog said plus this: yesterday they figured out after x-rays that a "certain area" is swollen and possible infection. They put him on 2 anitibiotics and now another waiting game. If he recovers? fantastic! If it doesn't help then they are looking at going back in.
If you know hospitals then you know they could send his butt home tomorrow. (highly doubtful, but hopefully by the weekend). fingers crossed and prayers in the air.
his spirits are low, especially after the Twins lost last night
hey TC, can you post what we talked about earlier, things change so often, I can hardly keep it all straight. TeGantvoort.com has updates from his mom.
A nurse said he may be here til Monday!!!! :frown: we are tired.
he threw up all night and they say he has an ileus colon. so it's being lazy. He is now keeping a DQ icey cherry drink down and a blue gatoraide. he lost a total of 27 pounds in 12 days!! what a diet! man!
Doc said they MAY do a CT scan Sat (tomorrow). His blood pressure went from being sky high double highpertention 198/121 to way low 91/68! :frown:
I am way too affected by stuff like this (I have enough horror shows in my head!) but I just found the Facebook page and "liked" it, as I'm betting some of my friends and family will want to go.
Do you want me to share it out on my Facebook page that you are looking for volunteers? I'd be happy to do that, but wanted to ask first.
One son and all his friends have done the haunted thing at RenFest site in past years (security, mostly), and I don't know if any of them will have time to volunteer, but I can put it out there for them to see.
That would be FABULOUS.. they really do need the volunteer help!
I feel bad that I can only help 2 of the 7 days they are running...
I also love the fact they are donating ALL the money collected to a local charity.. all the expenses to create everything they are covering themselves! Special people they are!
It tastes like beef broth, kinda. And it was sent to me by a friend in Australia. Ever since that Men at Work song came out, I wanted to try it. It's great when you want something savory on toast.
Uuuuuhhhhhh, I don't know. I think I'd try a taste. One taste wouldn't kill me. But the name really turns me off (shudder). What's the consistancty like? Spam? Broth? Jelly?
There once was a day when the lips that touched Spam would never touch mine. That was before I did a fly-in fishing trip in Canada. It was eat Spam sammys or starve. Now I love Spam. Especially the Spam with cheese... And I think there's one with bacon, not sure. Spam is good stuff that can sub for burger in recipes in a pinch.
I drove by the ramsey county farm today and noticed a sign saying the fright farm was closed this year, and it had a ton of those little american flags in front of it. Anyone know why?
Just curious. I've never gone to it anyway, but know it always draws big crowds.
For Big Mike Wilkens the Sharif that died there last year!
And they are not doing the haunted house because they didnt have someone to run it this year! so it is on Hold and from what I have seen in years past Wont come to life again!
now if only i had a hoist in the garage.
someday...
<--- wants.
he is asleep next to me now
doctors think it could be a couple more days.
he still has his ups and downs.

they finally gave him some jellos and liquids - he hasn't eaten since midnight the 25th.
can't wait to go see the new baby again soon - Congrats to Nick and Carolyn on a beautiful little guy.

Lets hope tonight isn't close to last night.
I am a little off and just go where I see I've posted before.
Even if you can help out just one night - it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

they received a huge list of charities from their volunteers and were going to make the decision after the event.
Why didja? Buy it just to try? Offered from a friend? Grocery store sample? Will you buy and eat it regularly? What does it taste like?
Even Nutella gives me the willies though I have never had either. You are a better man than I, Ghunga Din. I gotta tip my hat to you.
kinda like SPAM, gotta be in the mood for that, and only cause it's 'Minnesota Grown' heh.
I've tried the Nutella - its okay, depends on your tastebuds and age. I think I liked it as a kid...no way in h e double toothpicks now.
maybe not at the same time though....
Visited Dreadwood Forest last night. All I can say is WOW! Wish I wasn't such a whimp or I would go through it!!
But I will be out there a couple of nights helping with parking.
And more help is still needed -so calling all Zombies!!
I miss it this season I love scarying the Crap out of people!!

But I still refuse to eat Vienna Sausages.
