I'm sure Valley Girl emailed the White House as it has since been removed. Its a shame, it was one of the best posts ever made in medallion hunt chatroom history.
Good to know. I'm sure I'll be there with you most nights, if not before the clue then for sure after as we all stumble down the block with dumbfounded looks on our faces and mumbling WTF does this clue mean?
the clock on those pages isn't going to change for a while. i've got a lot of content still not in the drupal system (treasure hunts and discussion board archives) on the web site that i use an approximation of the front page template on. keeps things looking *fairly* uniform. until the code is written for it and that content migrated, or until i modify the template, the pdg will always be 32 days ago on those pages. its correct on the front page though.
I think whomever digs out a hydrant should post a photo in Facebook and the PP Board. Before and after shots will be needed. Contact me with links for photo uploads - I'll try to start a 'Hydrant photo' thread in PP and lock out the riff-raff from garbage posts.
Hey, wait a minute there missy...Posen and I always pick that park in the Park Pool! He had the pick to himself until a few years back. I like it because that was my first medallion hunt (New Brighton Stockyard Days)!
I like the thinking about the moon. I too noticed it the last couple days. Now that I think about it its been out in the evening since last weekend. I saw it snowmobiling at Moon Lake Tavern in Turtle Lake, Wi.
I go past Newell on my way to Hamline U. Fond memories of those hunts. If one of the clues mention Midway's giant snow mountain, could be Newell. The Midway snow mountain won't melt until July if left alone to melt, Fox 9 news says.
since people hypothesized that goodhue called the hunt hotline to report that the deed is done, i thought i'd have a little gander at the video. the 5547 didn't match up to my ear, though the 651-228 part seemed close enough to try alternative means. with the speakers loud on the computer, and the mic from the phone placed next to it, i let the audio do the dialling. anyone wanna guess whose voicemail box was on the other end?
Too funny! Do you think the CW did that on purpose knowing people would probably figure it out and call the number, harassing their co-worker and perpetuate the theory that Joe is the CW? Or do you think that the CW really is Joe and in the process of making the video just decided to call his own extension?
I suppose the third option is that Souch has nothing to do with the clues, but helps make the videos just to mess with us, and he just happened to dial his own number, not realizing all of us obsessive hunters will noodle everything.
hey there I think I had it last year......I Love that park ...been scoping it all summer!!!!!! Last year I said I thought it would be there in the next 5 years.....Hope its this year......Glad to know were on the same page...it makes me feel better about the park
Well the theory goes that the current clue writer calls the previous clue writer and says "the deed is done" once it is hidden. if we take this as face value then the past clue writer was Joe at some time.
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi. Have fun! Hope to have some time to follow along out here this year. Maybe. I got my box of hunting stuff out the other day and the kids were all over it. We are going to set it all up in the office, like a War Room. They love the comic book about the green donut too.
How many message boards are there?
I don't see anything about valleygirl shutting up. Can someone link me to that?
and since you didn't swing by my place it must not be in Cherokee
As treasure hunters run amok, in their annual search for the elusive puck
With shovels and rakes as our tools
Not straying away, in the parks we will stay
Where hydrants are as rare as the jewel.
As we ponder the ideal of clearing fire hydrants for real
We take note that it is highly certain
That a residential fireplug will be avoided by ma press's bulldog
For use by the puck as a curtain
Deeper into our pondering, as our minds start a-wandering
And we think of the hydrants as treasure hunt baggage.
With this on our mind, and soon-frozen behinds
We give a new twist to an ages-old adage:
Give someone a fish; in a day he will wish
For a way to get more in his tummy
Yet teach him to cast a line, its a blast
And ne'er again will his stomach go hungry
A hydrant, you see, is useless indeed
For its purpose when covered in snow
Should a fire break out, one would certainly pout
If they had to dig at it with a hoe.
With these thoughts in mind, we think it rather kind
That rather than shovel the snow
From the hydrants on corners within St. Paul's borders
That we teach folks to shovel their own.

who's playing the role of qqqqq in tonight's performance of days of our pioneer press boards?
