Allison Wonderland

I was thinking more in terms of beavers making a dam.

I'm going to pretend that means "St. Paul" for now for no good reason. Otherwise I'm going to Optimist Beach on White Bear Lake.

You have to belong to the secret forum to get it. Jake posts it there and encrypts it using a book cipher. This year, be sure to refer to the paperback version of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. You have to get the page and line number from the Pioneer Press truck driver "Chucky".

I was out and about this afternoon. There is a big ice dam and icicle sculptures on the building at Newell.

I can't help but feel this clue reads more like 4 than 1. Let me be the first to throw out a Como reference.... "Fair Welcome" Well...from the Fairgrounds main enterance to a Como enterance is Midway Parkway (finding a park "amid" the flurries)...

OK- I got it out of my 1st day system... hope to see you all tonight!

My first thought is that they hid it in my front yard after seeing the huge ice dams I have, but then I remembered my yard is not a city park. Outside that, not pulling a lot out of this clue yet. Maybe a drink or 20 at Yarusso's tonight will fix that.

Title should be Inconvenient Lies, every source he named said in interviews he lied about what they said. Turned inches in to feet for example.

The medallion doesn't actually exist it's just a figment of everyone's imagination.

I was right about the blow up doll making return. And it looks like the video clues are sticking to the disturbingly perverse theme.

That purchase is going to take some explaining on the company credit card.

Many of these same ideas for Como could also be used for a couple other parks in the Midway area. Often there is a park that seems almost certain early on only to find these clues also fit the park later in the hunt.

Couple of ideas would be Newell that also have some fair connections and the devils den. Then there is a couple of rec centers that might fit the midway area - one that borders Como Ave.

All I can say is I'm happy to be thinking this could be nearer home rather than miles away.

"As the cold wind blows through our record snows"

Perhaps the puck is attached to the new Eminem record and thrown into the snow.

Cold wind blows is a song off of his album which was number one on the charts last year.

Through/threw would have to be a play on words.

It would strike me as odd though as the CW doesn't come off as a Eminem fan to me...

"We Bid" also has me thinking a poker or auction reference.

You were right about the doll. I also liked the Beaver noodle you had.

As far as a theme, I'm thinking the tone of Goodhue is FURY! Fury motors?

I have spent the whole day trying to remind myself that it is Clue 1 and really all it is probably telling us is "it is in a park", but I just wanted to throw out there that the St Paul OPTIMISTS meet at Town and Country Club right by the river. I don't know if they would ever put it in the River Parkway area, but it would definitely make for an interesting hunt...

Also there is a dam between Phalen and Keller lakes we can add to the list of dams.

clue #1 is primarily a "it's on public land/in a park" kind of clue and that's it... but sometimes there is a nugget of info and they give you more.

2007 (2nd hunt) they used the Bard/Shakespeare/Rose reference to hint at Roseville.

I loved Cats noodle for optimistic= Rose colored glasses

I agree. It is just hard not to think about other possibilities!

And in 2007's Central Park Hunt, Clue 1 was basically a Clue 4 or something since that was a foreshortened hunt before it began (I don't remember the exact clue limit though).

Can't be roseville.... unless I'm there. *wink* That would be nice. I love that park, and it has lots of good spots. Plus the clue doesn't mention it's in st. paul (yet!)

Take your pick, she has:

A tumor in her bladder, which happens to be malignant. It's caused her to get an infection, which has made her septic. That has put her into accute renal failure. Top it off with on Monday she had a mild heart attack as they were admitting her to ICU, and the cardiologist now wants to "rotorooter", sometime after they remove the tumor... which will be sometime after they can get her *stable* which in ICU terms, she still has a long way to go.

Spent the day with her at the ICU... She was so picky, and whining, which tells me she is feeling better than she is letting on to the docs... fingers crossed.

Picky and whining could definitely be taken as *good* in this circumstance!... You (and she) are in my prayers.

Thanks Mom. We can (both) use them. I just had my antibiotics and my asthma meds doubled by my doc, because my pneumonia hasn't gone away in close to 2 months. I've lost about half my lung capacity, and had to stop playing soccer a couple a weeks ago, after having a huge asthma attack on the field. Hoping to be back to it, as well as running and working out in another week or two at most. Can't sit here for long.

On a Good note, my doc, has deemed the lump in my breast non threatening, and managable with a ultra sound every six months, rather than a lumpectomy!

Well there are 2 real things that stick out more than the rest:

    Dammed and Fair.

Dammed makes me believe it is in a park or near a park with a Dam.

Fair could really mean Fair as in Como Fair or something of the such or a obscure reference to a golf course fairway...

Hard to really know at this point. but they are spelled that way on purpose. Fair could have been Fare.... and Dammed could have been Damned.

I would have to imagine the CW wrote those words they way he did on purpose.

Wish I could have made an appearance at the PDG last night! I was at another party and before I knew it I was in no shape to be driving. Anywho, I'm sure I'll bump into you folks in line.

    Fairview? Ford Dam?

Actually I don't think "fare welcome" would make sense. But it does feel like the word fair is important. Of course we thought lederhosen was a significant word too.
