It was wonderful seeing everyone last night, even though we didn't get to greet everyone, seeing new and familliar faces is a great way to start the hunt.

My 2 cents about last night - If Yarusso's won't close dining for the Predig, we should push the time back to probably 8 pm instead of 6 pm. By 8 most of the normal dining crowd has lessened, and the rather unsafe packed-to-the-gills situation between 6:30 and 8 pm probably would not have happened. Sorry if the families with kids don't want to stay up later, but at about 7:30 that was a another fire tragedy waiting to happen.

Kudos for Yarusso's for dealing with the crowds and trying their best to get everyone in-and-out and being as efficient as they could. I forgot to toss in a tip for our waitress when I paid the buffet fees and feel bad about that.

Even though I've been doing this for a few years and know a lot of you, I still say nametags would help out enormously.

I agree we should not have started at 6. When I got there at 6 the place was packed with people I didn't know. (Maybe they were there from the advertising?) Was hardly any room for the people I saw coming in that I did know were there for the PDG. I did see at laest one couple that came in from the carnival website posting as an event. I talked with her a bit.

Name tags are a MUST!!

And I would like to take the time to thank Red bear for Stepping up to the plate and getting everything setup and going I think your crazy for doing it but hay thats just me! I think the only way we are going to make things work for us in the futer is to RENT A HALL and have food brought it and BYOB! that is the only way most people are going to be 100% happy but even still that wont work because no one will want to chip in for the hall!

so more about that later and thank you to Yarusso's for having US!

What about checking out the place AW suggested I think it was Joseph's? B/C Yarusso's didn't really feel comforatable until much later like 9 or 10. I know it started emptying out around 8 or so but I still f elt anywhere I went I was constantly in some waitress' way because of spacial issues.

Not to put the cart before the horse.. but is there a plan for the RHB yet?

I though the Newell bldg was perfect last year.

How about the really big debate? VVD Saturday or Superbowl Sunday? The Newell building is $150 for three hours and another $40 for each additional hour. Last year we went 11:30 to 2:30 but it was a bit of a rush to get out of there. They also have a 100 person limit we'll likely bump up against. Over that you have to pay another $60 to rent the outside shelter. I can't think of a better spot offhand without ditching the potluck.

I vote for Sunday. The Super Bowl doesn't start until evening anyway.

I vote for Newell and Sunday. 3 hours is enough. Really, we don't need to rent any outdoor shelters. No one else will be there.

I concure 3 hours is plenty if people want to keep going after the fact they can go to another venue but most people are done by the end of 3 hours I think.

Alright, I'll reserve it tomorrow then if that's the consensus. I feel pretty safe betting that the medallion won't be found this week and that I should book it for 2/6.

Good idea. When you call, ask if we need to, if we could move it up a week. That will give us options.

Are we locked into 2/6 for the RHB? Or do we have the option for 1/30 if the medallion is found this week?

I have an invite for this Sunday afternoon, but I want to keep the RHB a priority.

If the RHB were to change to 1/30, what would be the latest date/time the medallion could be found and still change the RHB date?

The st. Paul parks department requires 7 days advance notice for renting the building. I'm sure it's because thay have to coordinate someone to open and close the place. So we are locked in for Feb 6th from 11:30 to 2:30.
