There is a record called the" castle of fair welcome" by christopher page& the gothic voices.

Album cover is very fairy tale like with huge castle that looks like an ice palace.

I like TVs idea about fair welcome being fair entrance. The MN fairgrounds has been posting a ton of photos lately on FB of renovation and the snow cover. One of a very large icicle etc.

Plus you have the midway (between fire and ice and heaven and hell) midway section of como.

Did anyone else notice the and in the third line throws off the verse? Is it there for anagramable reason? The rest of it has the same flow as 2003. (I think the word is petantic meter? But I maybe wrong.

iambic pentameter is the phrase you're thinking of.

That's it! Pedantic is when you are overly concerned with trivial things in speech.

When I first read the clue the thing that stood out to me was rhyming "hell come" with welcome. That screamed Eminem to me for some reason.

He was on 60 Minutes last fall explaining how he has a special way to rhyme things together for his rap verses, it's not inconceivable that the clue writer saw it and used it here.

Good Morning everyone. Wish I could of made it to the Predig last night.

I'm on a different page than the rest of you this year...

I think if dammed is a clue it is a clue that is obscure from the obvious. A damn can be anything that holds back water for several different reasons as i posted the definition earlier. With that said it could be as simple as a Hockey rink. In addition I really think optimistic means "Rose" as in your optimistic if your looking through Rose colored glasses. Yes it's a stretch...but it always is on the 1st clue. Looking back Den meant Lily....giving us the name of park... Start of something big was Itasca giving us street name...and so on

Just my 2 cents worth

I'll be at Lonetti's all day today selling pull tabs ...anyone in the area can come by and say "HI" if you wish. I'll be there until midnight.

I'm thining the dammed and ice is merely a reference to all the snow and ice dams this year.

This clue tells me park, nothing more.

Although, "fair" welcome has me thinking about the Midway.

"Plus you have the midway (between fire and ice and heaven and hell) midway section of Como."

Whether this ends up being what it means or not, that is a brilliant noodle....

Well, with 56" of snow, if it is Como, they could just tell us tomorrow. Still would take all 12 days, even if we knew that was the park.

Well it could be that they hid it on the state fair grounds and they are waiting for them to move it lol! what a twist that would be! have someone else hide it for them!

It is nice to be back. Hopefully this week will be better then last week. I perty much could not mentaly handle any more bad news last week, where my mom is currently living in an ICU room. Good news is she took a huge jump for the better from last night to this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to go out and dig this year, but time will tell.

Its talking about the paper carriers as the overall theme. References a ship and taking extra steps from our house doorsteps to shiver.

We should try to get the text.

Through Stormy seas minding our Q's and P's

Hey captain a steady ship, with purpose clear he made us cheer or at least keep a stiff upper lip.

More to come

CLUE 2

Through stormy seas, minding our Qs and Ps

He captained a steady ship

With purpose clear, he made us cheer

Or at least keep a stiff upper lip

Move with elation, like folks from circulation

Each morn, they stand and deliver

Take many more steps, away from your doorsteps

Like carriers, hunters must shiver.

Q's and P's, not P's and Q's? It wouldn't change the rhyme to say it the conventional way.
