Sounds like a bit of a slam on Farve as well as the Bears, but otherwise I think they're just saying there's winter activities going on in the park, perhaps skiing in particular.

ABC's long ago ad for... Some sports program. And the skier falling down ths ski slope and you hear, "or the agony of defeat." Which comes after "The thrill of victory..."

Just that it isn't hidden there, though. At the ski jump. But elsewhere in BC.

Da agony of da feet-cold feet? Where lovers meet and prime location- The wedding area of Como?

leelabell

I'm trying to think of Chicago references having to do with St. Paul

Ol' Chicago (there isn't one in St. Paul, is there?)

Chicago hot dogs anywhere?

Something having to do with the Bears (other than the zoo)?

Deep dish pizza?

“Spanning the globe, to bring you the constant variety of sport – the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.”

Famed intro to ABC's Wide World of Sports

“We’ll bring you the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat – and, because we've got soccer highlights, the sheer pointlessness of a zero-zero tie.”

is it people who love winter? or people who are in love in winter? or people who are lovers in the frigid temps in parks in winter... and in that 3rd one I use lovers as a rather loose term...

side note: I didn't even think of Farve, I was thinking of the Brettanomyces, and the aging of wine. Lovers sharing a bottle... oh well.. that must mean bed time. Night all!

I think in this case it is referring to "Da Bears" (People actually talk like that here. Locals don't pronounce TH.)

Heh, I still remember being interviewed on the phone by someone at the press regarding using gps technology for the hunt.

She certainly left me with the impression I was nuts for wasting my time on it. Then a few years later, the press is using it themselves. Go figure.

Phalen -

Winter lovers being the monument made in dedication to the builders of the 1986 ice palace on the island "A Labor of Love" (- a prime location...) prime possibly secondly referring to the pumphouse nearby.

1 - park

2 - circulation, nearby round lake - nod to the newspaper guy

3 - Chestnut gentle, potentially a rusty pipe that crosses a bridge for a road that used to be there when mem were men, then heads back underground

4 - step off the path - step counts on around lake paths signs - possibly look in area of old ice palace?

5 - winter lovers - the monument, not agony of da feet, stay off the walking paths

dunno. Going to bed. SHould start Saturdays homework soon.

Was a 2005 American-made movie!!:

F: Ohhh, the Agony of Da-feet

(That's the real title, no typo)

"Set in the 1940's and filmed in black and white; this dark film noir comedy chronicles the life of Joseph Smoot-Nibbley, a decent man struggling with his indecent desire for feet; He finally falls in love with the girl's foot of his dreams only to discover her digits are off limits. Hidden below the city streets from a society that shunned him away, Joe tells his own story of love and rejection" (IMDb).

Expect a video recap.
