One more.

Trail of the Lonesome Pine

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,

On the trail of the lonesome pine—

In the pale moonshine our hearts entwine,

Where she carved her name and I carved mine;

Oh, June, like the mountains I'm blue—

Like the pine I am lonesome for you,

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,

On the trail of the lonesome pine.

Scooby-Doo is a 2002 American live-action comedy film based on the Hanna-Barbera television cartoon series of the same name about a group of young detectives and their talking dog. The film was directed by Raja Gosnell, produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, and written by James Gunn and Craig Titley for Warner Bros. The film stars Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Freddie Prinze, Jr. as Fred, Linda Cardellini as Velma, and Neil Fanning as the voice of Scooby-Doo, along with Scott Innes as the voice of a dog named Scrappy-Doo and Rowan Atkinson as the owner of an island amusement park. Scooby-Doo and the other nonhuman characters were created on-screen using computer-generated imagery.

Wasn't Fred MacMurry in Flubber too?

Let me check.

I'm with you on MacMurray. See you out there tomorrow?

leelabell

Yes, indeed, the original Absent Minded Professor (where flubber was introduced) did indeed star Fred MacMurray.

Sorry, Martemis, I'm in Chicago.

For those in the HF camp -- Norfolk Ave, that runs just off River Blvd - well, it's the only street in the area named for a pine. So it's all alone.

Best I can come up with, and I haven't been *in* HF really so far, just sayin

Headed under blankets myself soon - goodnight and SCD's

how do you get como out of flubber?

(Love your crazy board quote!)
Thu, 01/27/2011 - 9:46 PM Permalink
leelabell

I can't see how it isn't Como unless these are all red herrings.

I really don't want it to be at Como. With all the snow, I wanted a more interesting park.

And, three mentions in one clue of the same actor. That's quite the push in that direction.

But, I'm sold.

McMurry was in both Flubber and in Scooby doo

If it is indeed Como (I hate it being there), maybe the Hamm's fountain (Hamm's bear) would make a good "water to ice" link.

But, I dunno. The fields are "MC" murray, the actor is "MAC" murray.....prolly close enough, considering some of the explanations from years past.

For the 32, I like the 3200 steps around the lake at Como.

And for the bear clue, it is either Black Bear Crossing or the real bears at the zoo.
