we've never had a delivery problem with our paper. only times it isn't on our doorstep (or at least in its vicinity) is when i haven't had a chance to blow out the sidewalk in which case its conveniently at our garage door. i suppose out here there's too much competition from the strib (who incidentally doesn't do doorstep delivery) that they figure they better get it right.
Our son delivered papers for awhile too. His dad would help with the Sunday papers. Never had one single complaint. I remember the kid saying he knew how upsetting it was to people to not get their paper or not get it put where they wanted it.
Yes, Redbear! That was me. I was sitting there when Jake and Rob found it... luckily, you guys all got word to me so I didn't need to sit there any longer needlessly.
Thanks, I am actually planning to try to come to the Rehash and I definitely want to do the MockHunt. This year ended too fast for me! As I get more and more faces put to names, the big group stuff gets easier.
and as i posted over on the crazy boards, aw's is not going to be the only mock hunt this year. as the current reigning finders of that puck, tc and i owe the crew a hunt of our own, tentatively named the first annual treasure chest booty call :smile:
Tomorrow I actually had most of the day off - only had a 2:00 meeting that was a MUST. Planned on hunting, going to said meeting, having dinner and out again.
Same for Tuesday as I had cleared my calendar except for one thing in the afternoon late.
Finally get some time cleared in the last two years, and look what happens. Seems if I can't take time off, the hunt goes longer.
But I am looking forward to Sunday. Sounds like some folks are planning on attending the first time so that is very cooler.
Guess I'll get to bed so I can dig into projects I can work on tomorrow being my calendar was cleared.
I'll probably stick around for another year, and see where things go from there.
Has anyone had any contact with the able minds people lately? I kind of wonder how long they plan on running a forum site before we may all be forced to move anyway.
Funny thing happened yesterday when trying to text you. You obviously got a new number since I last talked with you last but I did have a very nice conversation with a gal who had no idea what the hunt was but was interested in it. We went on with about a dozen texts a piece. She wasn't able to go out with us with the finders yesterday but may come to the RHB. Nice lady. Well I hope it's a lady anyway since (s)he called me honey a few times. HAHA
wwwow - the police couldn't find the driver or riders in Alary's, imagine that.
obviously we don't know the whole story, but with what the article says...I shouldn't be surprised that the police DIDN'T haul the firetruck away because they knew it had been in the accident.... and the police put on blinders when it comes to anything inside Alary's -
Dallas went to school with my daughter Abby. I'm surprised by this. Jana, he's related to the Apfelbacher's who live on Alice in SSP. Not surprised that he was drinking so much as that he didn't stop when confronted.
I stopped by Rice Park tonight on my way home from a Mason meeting. They've really outdone themselves this year. Of course the freshly falling snow helped a bit too, but what a magical place it is this time of year. If you haven't walked through it yet, I'd really encourage you to go there, especially at night.
Was in Charlies Place in Clayton, Wi and happened to know the bartender because he was a Moon Lake Thresherman with Pennys Dad. He said the guy just up the road was a vulcan in the past and owns one of those red fire trucks they use. Small world!
Sometimes I think by the time I'm old I should be able to reach across the street and shake the hand of someone in Australia. The world is getting smaller all the time.
Alright, I have to wonder, but I don't want to hijack my Mock Hunt thread on the PP with this discussion.

let me see:
Toad,that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blindworm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing.
Scale of dragon,tooth of wolf,
Witch's mummy, maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark,
Root of hemlock digg'd in the dark,
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat; andslips of yew
silver'd in the moon's eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by the drab,-
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For ingrediants of our cauldron.
Parsley
Sage
Rosemary
and Thyme for flavor
Oh Heck, I'm out of dragon scales.
Creepiness aside, I have to wonder two things. One, how does such an ancient religion define a "blasphemous Jew"? Sounds much more like a Christian notion offhand. Two, isn't it curious that something from this ancient religion would form perfect rhymes in English? Hmmm, might have to ask Kitch.

Alary's = most corrupt bar in St. Paul.
