My first online dating Scam whore! I got hit up last night for an online chat in the dating website with a 31 y.o. Minnesota 'Woman' who claimed her MN father died and she lived with her Mom in Ghana, Africa. Riiiight. Not much for vocabulary - or good spelling - but 'She' was very curious what my Yahoo e-mail account and phone numbers were. 'She' thought the Twins were going to do well against the Packers this year, too.
I got this email the other day.. subject line: Nice to meet you
Nice to meet you.
My name is Mary. Moreover, how will you respond to me through my private email box, so c can give you my pictures you to know who I am and believe that we can move here! waiting to hear from you, us at the earliest.
(Remember that at a distance or color does not matter to me about you, but it matters a lot in life)
please contact us here, contact with me as I've said that my email address.
My uncle who I've been trying to hunt down in MN since my mom got sick FB friend requested me this week. Im not thinking he grasps FB. He has several friends in foreign countries with his same last name (Pechler ) at first I thought holy crap does be have a family we don't know about, then I realized he's just adding people. There is a scam waiting to happen ....
Oh the things that keep you up at night. Iceman mentioned this to me during the hunt and I've still not been able to make any sense of it, though I did find this:
Just got word my father-in-law is back in the hospital with pneumonia. He hasn't been home for two months now. It's been hospital, care center, hosptial, care center and now hospital again. I wonder if he will ever get back home. :frown:
It's the bad heart valve. I suspect that it really is totally failing now and his body just can't keep fighting the fluid buildup in the lungs. They call it pneumonia, but it's not the bacterial form.
It's been a few years now. It was damaged, they suspect, when he was having radiation for his cancer of the esophagus. They decided when they found it that because of his age, he wasn't a candidate for having it replaced. He's now 88 years old.
The weakened heart valve is causing the fluid in his lungs. He had pneumonia last fall, but recovered. They then had him using a nebulizer a couple times a day. As of the end of January, he has had pneumonia three times.
I've heard pneumonia is a pretty hard thing to fight when you're young or older. Sorry to hear that Terry :frown: Hope they can at least makehim comfortable.
I'm starting to look for a place to rent in/near Eagan, Mendota Hts, Lilydale, Mendota, or Hiawatha Park/Longfellow neighborhoods along West River Parkway in Minneapolis.
I probably will want about a six-month rental. House, townhouse, condo, duplex, apartment all OK if right location. Laundry in unit, attached garage a plus. NOT looking for pool, party room, workout facilities.
If you know someone who is looking to rent to someone who will take good loving care of their home/property, please send their information my way! Thank you.
Probably most people in this crowd live in St. Paul or the St. Paul suburbs. A few live in Minneapolis, and some live in outlying areas of the Twin Cities.
Sally, the Cooler Crew is a group that got started in 1998 during the St. Paul Winter Carnival medallion hunt. We have posters from far and wide - some used to live here and are living away now - some have joined us from afar and just like the friendly folks here. Again, welcome to Shoot the Breeze!
Those of you who rent/have rented recently - what are some good ways to find nice rental property?
A realtor on my class reunion committee submitted her ten best shots. None of them are in my search area and really none of them met my other criteria either. I gave her further feedback, but if that is the best they had to offer first time around, more restrictive criteria is not going to pull up anything at all.
I know there is a plethora of rental property out there - I just need to figure out the best way to cut to the chase. I don't have a lot of time to just go out and look. My time away from work is pretty full with homework for a nursing certification program I am in. I also need to plug in a trip to Marquette to get my spring/summer clothes and get my snow tires switched out.
I would, of course, prefer a private arrangement where someone knows someone who is looking for renter who will take excellent care of their property. I've been a solo homeowner for a couple of decades, all together, and know how to watch for things any good landlord would want to be alerted to right away.
Thanks for any help or direction anyone can provide.
Again, the areas I'm looking in (first) are Eagan (the closer to Diffley/77 the better), Mendota Heights, WSP (the closer to 110 the better), Lilydale/Mendota would be OK, and I'd also consider the neighborhoods west of the Mississippi, East of Hwy 55, south of Franklin and north of 110/62. By closer to the freeway, I don't mean right next to it, but rather the western edge of Eagan rather than the eastern edge, and the southern part of WSP.
This is part of my route to work. Living along or near that route would cut my commute by more than half, but still allow me to be near my family who are all in Eagan, WSP, SSP, MH.
Eags I know there are properties in that area for rent I use to live off Cliff/77 and I know I saw properties all the time for rent. Depends on how big of a place you are looking for?
anyone have any suggestions on where to find collectors/buyers for old technology stuff other than Craigslist and Ebay. I really don't want to spend the $$ on E-bay and deal with that route if I don't have to and I've already listed it on Craigslist.
My dad had a RCA SelectaVision Video Disc player with like 70 CED movies. After 4 years I am finally getting my mom to go through some of my dad's old stuff and try to sell or throw out stuff that she doesn't want or will never use since she is hoping to move back down here as soon as she gets her house sold.
