I voted. Did you know that her diarama is on their twice? After I registered and logged in, I clicked on vote and had to try to find her diarama. I hadn't remembered to look at the number, so I did a search on "blizzard". Two items came up, one with six votes and one with two votes. Just thought you might want to know, in case there is any way to get them to consolidate the two.

There are eight votes now. Plus two I guess.

I left work at 8PM, the freeway was wet, not slippery, but visibility was so poor, I could barely see the lines for the lanes. With five lanes zipping along, I opted to exit at Snelling and take the city streets home. Got home at 9PM. Still not slippery at all, but still poor visibility. They are predicting less then an inch, but slushy accumulation. Once the temps start climbing in the morning, it'll all be gone.

Ahh yes, one last winter hurrah, it's a pretty normal occurrence here. I like all the people that complain or are shocked to see a snowfall after spring settles in. It's Minnesota, and weather is normally unpredictable.

I'm actually enjoying one last remnant of winter myself.

And the grass is still white.

Has anyone used a locksmith in the IGH area? We need a couple of things fixed or replaced. My main concern is that the handle on my bedroom door, once closed, will not let me out again. I had to call Vicky from my cell phone to let me out! When we have someone out here to fix that, we might as well get anything else that needs it fixed at the same time. Thanks for any info.

If it's just a bedroom door, a carpenter should be able to replace it. Might cost a lot less than a locksmith.

if its just a bedroom door, it can easily be taken care of with a screwdriver and a small handful of screws. go to the depot or lowes or menards and find a doorknob you like the looks of. oftentimes you don't even have to remove the original latch, just swap the sides of the knobs.

A carpenter would be fine for a few of the things, but we also need a locksmith. If anyone has any recommendations for either, that would be great.

sorry. can't be of much help in the recommendation department. i do most of that stuff myself

and building permits? what are those? they're just ways for the city/county/state/school district to find out how to raise my property taxes

if you really need a locksmith I'd recomend Kat Keys from downtown St Paul. They can do anything with locks.

so i finally got my old laptop sold on ebay at the end of last month. shipped it over to some guy in the maldives (an island in the arabian sea, off the coast of india, whose highest point is about 7.5 feet above sea level). delivery was first attempted on 4/5. he must not have gone to the post office to pick it up until monday, since i got a message from him early monday morning here, saying there was damage to it that wasn't mentioned in the auction listing. what this damage was, i'm not sure of, so i sent him a message back. two in fact. now 60 hours later, i still haven't heard from the guy.

assholes.

Aren't there restrictions on shipping technology out of the country? Specifically I thought 128 bit encription on Internet Explorer was banned from leaving the US.

not since the clinton administration, except to seven specific countries and otherwise specific people. i actually ended up writing up a paper on the subject last semester for the journalism class i took.

Back in the day, I used to deal in some encryption stuff. It always said not for export to Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Vietnam, Libya, or Cuba. I imagine Vietnam is off the list. Possibly Iraq.

Nowadays, with digital radio modes, inversion scramblers are pretty much dinosaur technology.

I just got a call from Throwbacks, apparently my name was drawn for a happy hour party. Two hours of $1 shots, $2 calls, and some free appetizers. It can be from 5-7 Mon-Wed, or any 2 hour period from 5-10 on Thursday. I'm supposed to call them back to schedule. She said it should be within the next few weeks if possible. When would y'all want to go? I was thinking either this Thursday or next from 8-10.

BFG won a prize drawing at Throwback's in Woodbury.

- Sad to say I got a new pain that set me on a new medicine regimen, one of which includes a pill that has virtually the same side effects as Antabuse, the anti-alcoholic drug - no booze for me for at least two weeks. Probably will show up and say Hi, but no booze.

If they want me to watch it, have the wedding in the afternoon or evening, so I can actually watch it at a decent time.

So glad we broke off from that country ages ago

One news source just reported that the royal couple is bummed that a guy name Joel in the US didn't watch their wedding so they said they would do it again at a yet to be determined date. Or whenever the Queen kicks the bucket.
