With your $10 donation, each person will receive a "limited edition" button (which is your ticket on & off the trucks), a voucher for a FREE APPETIZER to be used during a future visit to Tom Reids Hockey City Pub and 1 raffle ticket for prizes.

Sunday May 15 - EAA Chapter 1229 Pancake Breakfast and Young Eagle Airplane Rides. Breakfast 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. Young Eagle Rides 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. I heard that the free rides are for ages 8 to (I think) 17.
Vicky and I are probably going over there for breakfast.
Haven't been down there recently...is that Prescott? Looks like the Mississippi meeting the St. Croix. Lot of improvement since I've been there. Used to have property on the MN side 3.8 miles upriver on the St. Croix.
Re the airport. I grew up straight down the hill from it. My uncle was a member of the Hook 'Em cow flying club that started the airport, and build the original hangar. I spent some fun days as a child playing on the obstacle course left over from WWII.
Re the river flow...if you are standing at the public landing in Prescott you can see the Mississippi literally holding the St. Croix back. From the ground level...
Launched a boat there once that got away. It was a weekday, so very little boat traffic. Ol' Man River grabbed that boat and headed for Red Wing!! Fortunately there was a fisherman out there and he caught up with it, and brought it back. Dh was very embarrassed....

Ok Minnesota People... I need some research help. I'm trying to figure something out - when I was going through my mom's stuff, I found a HUGE pile of old letters from a guy named Frank Barnes... Funny thing - he was in Prision. Any way of doing an old search on what someone was hooked for? He sent her one of his mug shots, I have his prisoner number 18691. The letters are dated 1957-1962 that I've found so far.

I'll provide som...e beer, a grill, some pop, and burgers. BYOB. Pot luck mostly for food. We have plenty of fire wood to burn!!! We'll move the party (and tents) into our 2 large pole barns in case of rain. Running water and electricity available.
Since theres no Taste of Minnesota this year, I'm hoping for a good turn out!! C'mon out and have some fun in the country!!

We had a picnic lunch with my Mom today - but indoors thanks to the rain that showed up just about the time we were going to eat.
Our daughter sent a nice card and she called this morning and we had a nice conversation.
Our son and his wife got back from their cruise later this afternoon and he called twice today. We will celebrate Mother's Day with him next weekend.

re the river: i believe it. the picture makes it look like its the other way around. that's why i found it so interesting.
I'll have to check from the pc sometime and see what I see.
