I've had and used it for years, and it always brings me to tears.

My new grandbaby!

Joseph Taylor (the latter is his middle name, after his maternal grandfather), born 5/25, 8 pounds 3 ounces.

Will post a few real photos (snagged this one off FB) when I can.

I am one proud parent:

Each year one boy and one girl in the 6th grade are selected to receive the “School Patrol of the Year” at Edgerton Elementary... I am proud to say that my Ben is receiving this award - and he has no idea!

Here is the criteria for the award:

Has been an exceptional school patrol by:

• Successfully completing 1 or 2 years as a school patrol

• Works well with all students

• Demonstrates empathy - is a good listener

• Has initiative - sees what needs to be done and does it

• Responsible – is on time/finds a replacement if they cannot be there

• Has a positive attitude

• Always willing to help out

• Assertive – stands up for what is right

Here's the trick to getting Lilacs to bloom profusely: Cut them back right now and get rid of all the old wood. Anything that's 1" in diameter at the ground level, cut it off right there.

And do not do any more trimming after this weekend.

I think the iris liked the cool spring. I have more blooms than ever this year.

What if they're really tall and I'd like them shorter? Is it okay to cut the tops off if they aren't quite 1" in diameter? I think some thinning is in order too -- I don't believe they've been cut back in 20 years or so, but pretty clueless about where to start.

As long as you do it real soon.

Often times, as you remove all the old growth by cutting at the ground level, the tall stuff is what gets removed. Just start there and see what else needs to go. Then you can see if you still want it shorter.

But remember, if you do any pruning after this weekend you run the risk of removing next year's flower buds. The buds start to form shortly after this season's blooming is done.

Mine after 15 year of growth have about 4 branches....We don't have much sun. /they have not spread like they usually do...

In that case, just reduce the height to where you want them to be. If there are no sprouts coming up out of the ground, you may have a hybrid. The trimming back to the ground only applies to the old fashion common lilacs that spread.

Lack of sunlight will certainly cause a decrease in the number of blooms.

I went there as a kid.

I was a luitenent. I had a better score from the camp than the captain did, but he was bigger than me. I was mad about that. Turned out a girl had the highest score of all 3 of us. She was a second luitenant, I was a 1st Luitenant, and the other guy captain. Discrimination??? Yea, probly.

Spent the evening playing Just Dance on the Wii with my kids.

Got tired of losing. Thinking they are so good because they play a lot more than me and know the dances - I down loaded some new songs to make it more even.

Song Firework by Katie Perry: I go first and pretty proud that I scored 2300 points on my first try.. Next up, my 12yr old son Ben: Score 8830 seriously! :eyeroll: Last up is my 7yr old daughter she is totally blowing it because she is too busy singing the song... word for word - I have a good chance of beating her score... then out of the blue she ends up with 2540!

I truly believe that height plays an issue in this game and the angle of the remote :pbpt:
