I have a bunch of 'retro' stuff that we will be selling. Kitchen tables, console stereo, upright dresser, end tables, couch......etc. Most everything is in perfect condition and from the 50's or 60's. Think chrome legs, etc.

I found my self acutely aware of airplanes flying overhead on this anniversary of 9/11.
I've also noticed that I seem to have a lot more planes flying over my house since CM complained about the noise they make flying over his house. Coincidence? Hmmmm.
I think I've found a new hobby this year. I've started making mead over the last two months, and recently hard and sweet cider. Easy Peasy! Tonight I started my first 10 gallons of IPA.
I only have to get over the fact that everyone in the homebrew store seem to have the same distant look, as though there is a cornfield they'd rather be standing in.
Reminder - my 40th Birthday is this Friday. Open house at my place in Woodbury 4-8 pm, hopefully we'll be able to put the portable fireplace in the driveway and stay out later.
So does anybody else think that they will have a run on these masks on November 5th on Wall Street? I might have to get one this year before they're sold out.
Actually, I have made mead before,but then again I am also a beekeeper. So I have a lot of honey. Got one batch to 13% alcohol, with some residual sugar. Kind of like boones farm.
Yep, still, pretty rare occurance having an object pass within the orbit of the moon.
I'll be interested to see if any good high resolution shots of the asteroid come out. I like how one site mentioned Hubble couldn't capture images because the asteroid moves to fast. Duh, Hubble is a deep space telescope, it wouldn't get very good images of something up close anyway.
Can't recall the last time I gave an update on my progress in moving back to MN.
I decided to rent an apartment for six months. My house has shown a lot since Labor Day, and there is an offer on the table now, but we are still $28K apart on price, so not holding my breath. Meanwhile, I really needed to get a place of my own and found a nice apartment with a six-month lease. I hope to sell/buy during the coming six months, but at least this will give me a chance to see how I'd like apartment-style condo living.
The grandboy is doing well. He is 5.5 months old now, smiley, good-natured, and even when he has something to complain about, you can see he tries to be a good sport about it. I am so glad to have a place where the kids can come and visit, and I can cook and bake to my heart's content.
This morning, as my sister and I were moving a small load of stuff in, one of the renters here, who is moving to a different apartment in this building, asked me if I wanted a dining set and a loveseat. Since my plans to go to MQT to get my furniture this weekend fell through, I am so glad to have the use of this stuff! She said that when my furniture gets here, I should just let her know and she'll arrange to have the stuff taken away. She is on staff here. The people on staff also live here, and most have been here since the place was built or soon after, some 20+ years.
So, I am going to pamper myself this winter, and the only shoveling I plan to do is during the hunt!
I sold my house yesterday! Will sign the purchase agreement and fax it back this morning, but gave the verbal OK yesterday evening. Closing within 30 days. Probably doing the actual move by the end of this month. Haven't begun to settle in to my apartment, still can't find many things I need (kitchen items, clothes, blank checks), so I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. But grateful to have come this far in a challenging real estate market, a challenging time in my life. Focusing on being able to sleep in my own bed very soon, spending the Holidaze with family without having to plan my travels around Lake Effect snow, the hunt coming up and I will be in a situation where I can come and go in the middle of the night without worry of disturbing anyone.
