I can get library books on my Nook, and B&N has a lot of free and low cost books as well as best sellers. An ereader can be a black hole (much like owning a boat!) with out those advantages.
I have read some amazing books by using the low cost/free perks that I would not have other wise discovered.
Yeah, St. Paul public libraries partnered with overdrive and offers books to lend out for kindle. However, so far I haven't found anything I'm interested in reading yet.
There are a lot of classics available for free though. I'll probably start with some of those, and move on from there.

This year I've been working in a different dept at work and this is the first year my new co-workers are discovering my "passion" for the medallion hunt. Some think it's odd, some think it's amusing, one has found it intriguing and is going to try it out for the first time and an older couple who used to do it religously for decades but gave up in 2004 (after the 2nd medellion conspiracy)has decided to start looking again.... it's seems my excitement is infectious. :grin:

Thinking it's super cool that my mom offered to get up with the cranky, I don't ever want to get up and go to school kids in the morning because "I know where the medallion is" ...or at least I have a strong feeling of which park and what area of said park it's in.
Seeing a Whitetail Buck run across Tony Schmidt Park between the hilltop shelter and Elmer Andersen trailhead and into the swamp during the ReHash. He was a big'un, and still had his antlers yet. It was just before the prize drawings, so I dunno if any other Coolers saw him.
On the sunday during the hunt we were walking the far west side trails (near the compost site) and we ran into an older guy looking for antler sheds and he was wondering why the park was so busy. We explained.
Turns out he was the head of some Mn bow hunters group (can't remember the exact name). My sister was elated to meet him since she and her husband were talking about joining. This is the group that organizes hunts in the metro area to thin out the large herds in metro parks. He said in the beginning they got a lot of grief from neighbors but after a few years the deer were being so destructive that people welcomed the hunts.
I took the day off from work today to take care of a laundry list of errands that are difficult to do outside of work hours.
I got my MN drivers license and ordered my MN license plates today. Had to take a written test, so I studied for that, and passed it. Passed the vision test without my glasses.
Got my Nook up and running.
Got my laptop back in commission.
Bought shoes. Sandals, actually. Bare Traps - now I have three pair!
Started looking for items I'll need to make little marimba mallets. I think it might be difficult to find the rubber balls needed for the project. Nothing at Michael's or WalMart. I'm thinking maybe a party store?
