I'm back in school this year and I'm supposed to write a paper about something I'm good at doing. Well, of course my mind is on the hunt! So, I thought, "Well, I'm good at getting 'this close' every year", why not write about that? Any tips on what makes a good hunter or why we are all so addicted to this silly hunt year after year after year
I think you need to talk to team BRANA (me2 and cluemaster). They found four (correct me if I'm wrong) medallions during the summer for the small town/city hunts.
Kinda stuck on the "Happy Holidays" pair being another play on words - like Partridge in a Pear Tree - but Partridge doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Thoughts?
Basically it starts with you personally nailing a clue with no help and it gives you confidence to continue on. Similar to golf where you sometimes get a great shot and you blow it sometimes but you always remember that one shot that gave you that feeling. Similar to gambling as well. We only remember the times we win. And if you do it amongst friends it's better yet. Then the ultimate is to get a hole in one when you find one. As much as you would think it would satisfy you to find it. It only makes you want it that much more. Similar to having close calls. The reason you'll see Rob and Jake and any other finders out there. It's an addiction for sure. Add the camaraderie and you have a great pastime.
I just think how many years I've been looking (20+) and w/this crew since the beginning and, now, I've partially convinced my dad to join in the fun. It's an addiction for certain but one so many of my friends don't understand. Those that live in St. Paul, though, are amazed how much I know about their city considering I live across the border. lol
Sorry I missed Gabe's tonight. Anyway, it's obvious that yellow mashed ice rhymes with redbull crashed ice. Not sure what it means besides possibly what it's hidden in.
Yw suitcase. I could go on forever. I do find it odd that I've been hunting steady for 33 years now and have also been with the cooler since the beginning and only just met you last year. Nate just posted a video of our meeting. Was nice that you informed me of my spot on tv. I had no idea. Look forward to seeing you at Gabes again soon.
If it's in a Red Bull can, the can might be made out of Reynolds aluminum. The person that sang Happy Holidays with Bing Crosby was Marjorie Reynolds. Yes, it's a stretch..just noodling!
Just curious, during the days and weeks before the hunt, does this forum have a spot where we all can (just for fun) predict where the puck will be and also take guesses at what subjects will be in the clues. I know there is the Park Picks board at the PDG, but for those that can't make it to there? Also, it would be fun to make your clue guesses before they even come out. I'm guessing that some of you would have predicted Crashed Ice, and that would be cool to see it here before the clues come out. Just a thought.

Goodnight coolerheads and SCDs!
Think: Huge event starting in just a few days. Get it?
Fitting.
Wait.. are twinkies made out of yellow mashed rice?
//largely stumped on the Happy Holidays reference
///Though Wiki has me leaning towards Newell

#3 Exercise the kids - WaterWorks? Playground or rec center
#3 Winter Allows - Ice climbing at Crosby or snow shoeing at Bald Eagle
# 4Up/Down could reference BC but could also reference the upper and lower part of a park like lilydale or Crosby the bluff part and the river part.
#4 Yellow Mashed Rice - The San Francisco Treat  Sounds like crashed ice but can't be anagramed
FYI I do like the noodles for Bald Eagle
Yes LLB you are right it does look like the whole thing is talking about Crashed ice I was focused on the Yellow mashed rice :eyeroll:

rereading first clue with kiss
Don't hunt in a place where you play a round. don't look in a park with a playground
