Looking for recommendations for hotel or motel accommodations. My cousin is coming down from Duluth to spend time with our cousin who is in intensive care at United Hospital. She is used to an AmericaInn type of place and would prefer that rather than a business oriented or fancy place but needs it to be safe and comfortable with Wi-Fi access. I know it's a tough question because most of us don't stay in a hotel in our own town, but if you have had any recent experience with hotels in the area, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks.

My brother has stayed at the LivInn and the AmericaInn near where I live in Landfall. Never heard a complaint about either of them, although I think being they're visiting people in a downtown hospital, they'd probably rather be someplace closer (granted these are just off 94, an easy drive to downtown).

Ironically there's a holiday inn a block from united.

No problem, I know for a fact that the livInn has wifi. Not 100% on the americinn, I should almost be able to reach it from my house though, considering it's pretty close by, lol.

AmericInn has Wi-Fi. I stayed there recently. One letdown is that the suites and the main lobby now have fireplaces that don't work - apparently the county changed some rules about gas fireplaces so they cannot be used in single rooms anymore without a hefty insurance upgrade.

hey Eags, I really hope everything turned out good with your cousin.

I know this is way after the fact but United has a building/apts. across the street (7th st) for family from out of town to live there during extended stays. I don't know if your cousin ever looked in to that.

Good to know - thanks, Jana!

My cousin got moved to a nursing home, but her prognosis isn't good. My other cousin, who was looking for a place to stay, will be back and forth to deal with legal and other stuff. I will tell her about the apts. across the street from United in case there is a future need. For now, she's found a Country Inn in IGH that she really likes. About as close as anything else and the price was really good, and all the restaurant choices and even the movies in case there is some down time, it really worked out well.

Anybody here have experience with Borderline Personality Disorder?

Is that diagnosed or are you looking for a diagnosis?

Undiagnosed at this time but wondering if anyone has experience with someone they know having it.

My sister has diagnosed personality disorder - and a few other things to make things more interesting.

The way to get help is the person needs to see a therapist. Often talking to a medical doctor about concerns will then provide a referral to someone who can diagnose and help treat.

See if this information helps.

My girlfriend has a relative with borderline. The name makes it sound like not a big deal, but it is.

Wondering if anyone is willing to Dog-sit my Border Collie/Sheltie mix for a few days at the end of March. Molly is very mild mannered and generally not very "hyper" unless you rile her up wanting to play fetch or with the laser light

I can't remember the last "vacation" - and since the family has been in the midst of "re-structuring" for the past 9 months or so, time has been difficult to find.

Would LOVE to be able to take the girls to visit their great-grandmother (Dad's side -- I have no blood relatives left) for her birthday - she's turning 97 (!) and it's been several years since we have visited. The timing is right with work and school (spring break), so it seems like I should take advantage and DO IT.

I have cats too, but I can probably "hide" various food and water bowls around the house for the time I'll be gone (haven't made reservations yet, but planning on 3/23 - 3/27).

Mom, I would, but there is a very good chance the outside work will be going on here by then. Molly is a very good dog.

Does anyone know if "No time For Cold Feet" is still avaiable on DVD? I loaned my copy out to a co-worker, he kept it longer than he should have, and now he told me his house was broken into and they took everything they could. He did say they caught the guy as he was trying to sell his CD's at Cheapo, but NTFCF is still gone  I would like to get another copy if possible please

Son (Drummer) and his wife and one dog may be looking for a rental unit in the Twin Cities. They found out yesterday that their Chicago plans did not pan out. Their lease in Baton Rouge is up on July 1. They will have a place to land until they can find a rental but of course they will be anxious to get settled. Twin Cities, Erie, and Marquette are all on the table at this time.

Please let me know if you see or hear info on rentals. I'm guessing they would like a house, townhouse, or duplex - something with at least some yard, but I'll share all info with them.

Thanks!

I'm going to be moving at the end of the month. We ended up not working out a deal to uy our townhouse so we're going to be buying a house instead. That means our current place will be available as the owner has decided to continue to rent it out. It may be more than they are looking for but it is 3 bedrooms, 1 3/4 bathrooms, and 2080 square feet. It has a small patio/yard. We were paying $1,200/month.

The flip side of that is we are looking for help with our move. It is Saturday, June 29th starting around 11am. We're moving just a few miles from Fridley to Spring Lake Park. We will be done by 5pm and will provide a lunch in there. We're also willing to take any helpers out to dinner at a later date. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Congrats (!!) on the purchase. Don't know if I could be much help, but I will certainly look at my schedule and do whatever I can...

We've managed to recruit a few helpers so far, but also had a couple of them cancel, so I think ideally we could still use maybe 4 more. We're moving this Saturday at 11am. We'll be loading up the old place at 1566 N. Oberlin Circle in Fridley and then taking it just a few miles away to Spring Lake Park. We're thinking of doing two trips with a lunch break in between and we should be all done by 5pm which is when the truck needs to go back. So let me know if you think you can make it. We'll take all of our helpers out to a nice dinner on a later date when we're not all hot and sweaty!

Need to hire 2 or 3 strong people to help me finish moving on Tuesday night.

Own or access to a truck would also be ideal...

I'm to the point of crying
