I highly doubt you'd want to come out if you were home anyway - 0Ëš steady NW wind and a bone-chilling -23 windchill right now. Good to hear from ya, sunshine.
well actually there are quite a few hints that lead to como. They used to have rice there years ago around the lakes, the "kids" which are baby goats, Grab your honey " there are bears there" fun for all and the ups and downs being the merry go rounds or carousel.
I live in Hudson! Thankfully, this year, I am not flying the friendly skies. I'm back in school (Metro for now.) and working at the Xcel. That means, I'm in St. Paul a lot and not just for the medallion hunting. I hope to work the hunt around my schedule. Is everyone still gathering at Gabe's? If so, I'll try to meet up after work one of these nights.
Concil still bugs me. There is the south Como district 7/10 council debate and the Como council headquarters at the street car station (tie in to line?)
I'd have to say 'Winter Allows what Summer Forbids' would either be ice fishing, or cross-country skiing on a golf course. A lot of the sledding hills are still open to play on during the summer because of their location/purposes, so summer would not 'forbid' that. Ditto for grilling, playgrounds and a lot of other activities.
On the other hand, it's would just be plain dangerous to try CC Skiing (or just plain hiking) on a golf course during the summer. VERBOTEN.
GAWD I hope it ends up in Highland. I got greedy/stupid and picked it in BOTH park pools.
Heh, good idea, make up some protest signs "Pioneer Press unfair to 1st in line guys" and "Bring back the treasure hunt line" or "I'm a treasure hunter, I'm used to waiting in the cold"
I like the cross-country skiing on a golf course angle. Until I read that idea I was pretty convinced the clue was referring to ice-climbing permits that are required to use the Lilydale, Crosby and Shadow Falls ice climbing areas.
Every nurse came in my room stating how cold it was. It was 19 here. People don't get it. I didn't bring my heavy coat though.... I figuredit would be a10 degrees warmer here, and it is.....
Wabbit, I saw something in the clues that led me to think of commercials, so I made my way down to the base of Bruce Vento Nature area. When I got out to start looking, I saw signs on a pole like a multi-intersectional guide. It pointed everywhere and listed every park. That, oddly enough, was exactly where I was thinking it was.So I got back in my car an went home!
Ten years later, in 1944, Warner Bros. resurrected "Don't Fence Me In" for Roy Rogers to sing in the movie, Hollywood Canteen. Many people heard the song for the first time when Kate Smith introduced it on her radio broadcast of October 8, 1944. "Don't Fence Me In" was also recorded by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters in 1944. Crosby entered the studio on July 25, 1944, without having seen or heard the song. Within 30 minutes, he and The Andrews Sisters had made the recording, which later sold over a million copies and topped the Billboard charts for eight weeks in 1944–45.
