The question is does "Don't Fence Me In" confirm Crosby or is it just a red herring and we should pull something from the song, like Cottonwoods which are common in the area. To me it's down to Crosby, Harriet, and maybe Upper Landing.
OMG...its crosby...you could live down there a month without a gps and your lucky to stumble into 3 or 4 geocaches...theres hundreds (active and inactive)
I dug up some old rotting fence posts in the grassy area near the "Yarrow" sign - towards the Shepherd road hillside - some damn big nails jutting out of them too - be careful if you wander around there
1) It's obviously in Crosby, and they basically spelled it out for us because the park is so huge that they can still make this a fun long hunt even with most people hunting there.
Or
2) No matter how many Red Crosby's the CW hits you over the head with, you'll wager it's NOT in Crosby.
I think it's a really good setup to get everyone out there. But they scream out crosby on the second clue, and the next 3 are pretty weak. If it was in the woods in crosby, they could scream crosby in every clue and still have a decently long hunt.
I'm thinking they toss a bone out there, to get people stuck on, then play a bunch of simple clues that can fit a lot of places. It'll probably be the same up through the weekend, then Monday's clue will be "hey morons, it's this park" (insert any random park other than crosby there).
#2. I've disliked Crosby from the start, and still do. But man, has the precedent really been set this high now for repeated and relentless red herrings?
In literature, a red herring is a false clue that leads readers or characters towards a false conclusion.
Ripped from wiki google or somewhere... a good reminder
CW cramming Crosby down our throats... Songs, early anagrams, though a daunting park, something not right.
Likewise BC. The moment you incorporate the word "dog" and Upper and lower in any fashion........pack up the van- time to hunt battle creek. Done there, been that. My opinion.
sure enough whoever is posting the clues posted clue four wrong. Which ended up costing me 4 hours and thinking I have the right park. Someone needs to change it. thanks..... Treasure Hunt is not capitalized in the newspaper.  :frown:
Well I swung by Crosby on my way home from work. At 1am there were 5 cars at the east end, 15 cars at the west end - parked at the marina because the gate was closed. Talked to a group of hunters - funny for people who are looking in -5, they sure had no clue. I talked them out of attempting to look on the hilly bluff. :eyeroll:

silt fencing? or marina fence or bluff fence or fence by freeway wash...thats a lot of fence
The first two lines seem to be referencing flooding.
And gobbles up mans silly frills.
"Don't fence me in" might be the song,
But spotting a fence won't lead you wrong.
//love it if it's actually at Crosby

Interesting enough, when I googled Don't Fence Me In Bob Fletchers name came up at the Lyric person.
Bob Fletcher's house use to be right by Vadnais Lake, which is also by Oak Creek Park which I may add Rice Street isn't that far away.

Expect more reprise in this year's hunt".
Doth protest too much?

Isn't the old bait shop at Harriet also overgrown and fenced off now?
