Conference calling on Skype isn't free - only one-to-one calls are.

But, a Google Hangout would probably work. (I've never done one. I'm just guessing.)

"Nature does what nature wills And gobbles up man's silly frills"

Hidden in something relating to Nature Valley?

Oh! Thanks for doing that. I liked my fantasy that they were eavesdropping in though....

I do remember the jail/workhouse and remember it still standing. It faced Lexington and was between Como and Horton just back aways from the street. It was one of the first things I thought about when I saw the don't fence me in - and it's historical which is often the case in clues.

But what I like about Harriet Island is the view of the downtown/crashed ice area and the nature gobbling it up when the spring floods come. It's that combination that made me think about the old jail across the river from HI.

A few years ago when they had the ask the clue writer they indicated that they do in fact read the boards.

At this moment in time I'm leaning towards Crosby. Which you are all probably like who cares, who are you, but I figure I have to start posting somewhere! LOL Drove through today at lunch and wow, there is absolutely no parking!!! I love Crosby and would look forward to hanging out there for the next 4 days while I am off work. I saw some reference to the Andrews Sisters and noticed today over near Hidden Falls there's St. Andrews Catholic Church, but part of the sign is in Korean or Hmong or something, but just a note.

I also like the idea of don't fence me in referring to the zoo that used to be on Harriet Island and like others have said before, there used to be a lot more at HI but now it has really just been accepted that the place is going to flood pretty much annually so they took away all of the frills.

My opinion on why it isn't Crosby: "Giving the clues away for a song

Turned out to be so very wrong." = Happy Holidays and Don't Fence Me In mean not Crosby. I think the CW is a little bit more tricky then giving away a park by coming up with a few songs that Crosby made. I do think they have meaning though.

"So last year's hunt proved pretty tough,

Filled with red herrings, bluster and bluff.

Expect more reprise in this year's hunt."

This is the CW saying to us "hey there's going to be red herrings and bluffs this year!" What is the MOST obvious red herring so far? The songs...the same songs he told us not to pay attention to.

The right park however though, is......*************************!!

Welcome HunterPixie!

Glad to have you here!

Being fenced in is being corraled or inprisoned. That's what I like about the idea of that referring to the old jail across from Harriet Island...but only the clue writer knows for sure until that medallion is found.

Fun for all; for one some glory

could this be "4" won some glory?? Sorry if this was said before. I am hung up on noticing there are number hints within the clue and the number of sentences looks like a pattern as well (8,8,4,4, and 4 again)

Could the Red Herring be that there are no Red Herrings.

I agree, that's why I'm trying to keep an open mind to HI and other parks.

Another thought I had is to look for the anagram using Red Crashed Ice. I initially left out the bull because it doesn't seem to fit. Anyways, one word that comes out of that is cache, so then I tried looking to see if there were any caches with names that would fit the rest, how cool would it be if the reprise was hiding the puck in a spot that has already been used in a "high tech" way? I didn't find anything that worked, but that would be some awesome deciphering in my opinion. I haven't tried adding in the bull yet. I'm typically a no bull girl! Maybe that will be tonight's project while playing the waiting game.

Behind what I think used to be the trolly or train station (county line) on the corner of Lex and Horton, there is a fence blocking off the area underneath the Lex bridge.

Not a Como fan but if you look at history, it's due to be there. I drove thru a couple of weeks ago and they are redoing the playground area in the picnic grounds, lots of fence around that project...

If it's not broken, don't fix it....is my theory..Do we want to try something new when it's a crucial time?

I think its safe to say we all have ideas. There isn't a consensus at this time, but I know some are favoring Crosby, Battle Creek, Cherokee, and I am favoring Harriet Island at the moment.

It's a matter of how one interprets the clues and to go with what makes best sense to you.

What continues to bug me is the delay between clues. I much preferred the two clues a day than this craziness.

I think the CW no doubt is a woman!

Nature does what nature wills

And gobbles up man's silly frills.

So nature floods .... causing havoc on the boats...(which generally are

Mens toys) and no man would EVER term his boat as a silly frill.

Just my take on it

Hi everyone! Long time fan, first time paid member and glad to be here. Here's what my family thinks:

Crosby: 60% no, 40% yes. Here's what I'll add that is new (or I haven't seen any posts about this yet anyway): The PP did a story about people braving the cold on Day 2 of the hunt, and reported that the person was in Crosby. Would they give this away on Day 2?

However, Crosby has the obvious Happy Holiday reference, no swimming in the lake during the summer ("what summer forbids), a fence along Shepherd Road, and is close to Homer and Elway streets (awesome noodle whoever found "Yellow Mashed Rice" = Homer Elway Sliced.") Pretty compelling, I think, but it might all just be too obvious. And/or a red herring.

Highland: Don't rule out Highland yet. Homer and Elway are sort of close to the park. The circus is there to "exercise the kids," although my gut feeling is that none of the clues fit will enough. Anyway, my sister thinks Highland, I want to think Crosby but have that nagging feeling it is too easy.

Those are really the only 2 parks we've zeroed in on so far.

Remember, though, in 2005 they gave away Crosby in Clue #2 with an obvious reference to White Christmas.

I hope some of this is helpful! I live in North Dakota now so I can't even hunt myself! That's how crazy of a fan I am. If I hadn't just been sick off work, I would think about coming back to St. Paul to hunt. When I move back to MN I am definitely going to start coming to all the Cooler Crew events!
