I unexpectedly sat next to the Winter Carnival Royalty at dinner tonight. They visited the Sibley Choir Fundraiser Spaghetti dinner (and donated a lot of money while they were there). The Sibley choir director got knighted, which was fun. It was funny to listen to the princesses of the winds explaining the medallion hunt to one another. Varying degrees of knowledge, from none to not much. LOL!
Damnit, my instinct in this hunt was right. Best of luck tonight if you go out, I REALLY want to now but just seems too dangerous. Hopefully will see some folks tomorrow morning~!!
Yellow smashed rice - y'all mentioned Rice Krispy Treats, right? Did you think about Kellogg's and the bridge? Or am I delirious and missed this connection earlier?

Who's good at unscrabling clues? Take the rhymes and unscramble them and I bet it's a 13th clue telling us what park we're actually suppose to be in.
I think the person mentioned is much more likely Bruce Vento, and that gives a few areas to search. The Nature Santuary, the regional trail (makes more sense with the downtowner car wash maybe) or the scenic overlook... Which is mostly out of ramsey county.
Thanks for the Sam Morgan info. I don't see anything about his being an advocate for the homeless or an animal lover. Seems he was a wealthy environmentalist. I'll stick with bruise.....I mean Bruce
In the Vento camp here, too, and I like that it's near my school. Here's to hoping I can get out again tomorrow. Watching my friend's kids in the a.m. Off to bed... G'night and GL. I want these clues to all fit perfectly by the time I wake up tomorrow. Now, get to work and make me proud:-)
Sorry for not posting the clue from Gabe's - it was late and the paper had it online before the hard copies showed here. Got a paper, got a clue... got no freakin' idea what to do with them...
What about Eastside Heritage Park? On the vento trail, along the old Phalen Creek, next to Johnson Elementry, on Payne Ave. Haven't looked over all the clues, but it was an idea that popped in my head.
Okay...so what if this is referring to the overlook at Cherokee.
Clues that line up with that park is the playground and sliding hill, Annapolis (anchors away) view of cathedral, 1st sign visible from eastern part of the park,
I don't think the Vento Trail connects to the Vento overlook. The maps I am looking at show it running from Swede Hollow and Mounds up to White Bear Lake. The Overlook is completely unconnected.
True. They don't connect. The trail starts at the edge of the sanctuary, however. There is also some sort of memorial to him around Johnson and Phalen Pkwy.
Which could lead you to better times.
A second idea from a subtle clue --
Pause a moment for a heavenly view.
He worked for the homeless, the great outdoors,
And little creatures who run on all fours.
As best to say - "He was a good man."
Study his path the best that you can.
but figures...

Only mentions he championed preserving nature areas....

Okay, I just made that up, but wouldn't that be an awesome find right about now!

Doesn't necessarily mean you are on it.
I am just trying to make this fit with the rest of the clues.
