Hark, ye lovers of woodland creatures.

Cheekiest? Rumpiest? Judge their features.

Gopher or chipmunk; squirrel or rabbit --

Find their home, a park they inhabit.

I wonder if there is another anagram there.

That's what I'm thinking ... rumpiest is not a word

I am guessing they were messing with other hunters. It happens too often towards the end of the hunt.

At any rate if you're out there, I'd keep digging.

Who is Jenne German? She is on FB claiming she knows of someone who cheated at the hunt, knew the final clue, found the medallion and then put it back.

Don't know. But she's friends with me2 and TC. I think she just got her hunter lore stories mixed up.

I don't know who she is.

Cherokee twice in one clue. Odd. I bet that is the street name being the anagram that Tater found was the park name.

She was just here 2 min ago... her name is Jengerm on this board.

mrmnmikey

They got both those annagrams on the old board too
Mon, 01/28/2013 - 9:52 PM Permalink
Terry

I think one is the street name and one the park name. Otherwise we are being knocked over the head.

Of course after all the toing and froing all over the city, maybe they figured they should nail this one down.

It is true, I do and I hope nobody is mad about it because it was my friends parents and I would never say who it was. They didn't know the clues someone from PP just knew where it was hidden. Please don't ban me for this!!!!!

Well if was back in the 80's .... ancient history.

I'm super confused, are you saying you know someone that cheated? Can you explain further?
Mon, 01/28/2013 - 10:00 PM Permalink
leelabell

Don't worry. I'm not mad, just trying to understand. And no one gets banned here unless they do something evil.

It is just hard to believe. It has always been the best kept secret in town.

Nick is the only one ever banned from the cooler crew

well, I posted a bit about it on FB but I know of a family who was told by someone that worked at PP where the medallion was hidden(in the eighties some time). They went to see if it was true, found it, took it home, took pictures with it and put it back. I only believe it because I saw a picture. That's all, besides the fact that you could never feel good about yourself if you cheated like that. I could try to find out the year.

HunterPixie

Didn't realize it was ancient history, but a little shocked. As someone else said, thought it was the best kept secret. Guess it's all about who you know...

I'm glad this was in the 80's and not this year. Still disconcerting, though. Any idea what year?
Mon, 01/28/2013 - 10:08 PM Permalink
Tatergirl

No need... if they put it back and didn't claim the prize... no harm. Probably were concerned of getting someone fired.

I do, too, and I'm hoping We're wrong. After all, I wasn't at Cherokee or BV. That's what makes me so sad. We had this area mostly to ourselves. I did see evidence of New Daddy having been there, though, or do the snow said. We are on our way home. If what we witnessed proves true and one of three guys show up at the PO, I think I'm done hunting, too. Call me a sore loser.

You know I did hear of that back in the late 70's or early 80's. The story I heard was a fellow from the printer called someone and gave out the clue, hence he got caught and Fired. Don't know if it is true or not

Oh and be careful driving and walking. It's really, really slick on the roads!

edit: I see now.

I never assume anything. My uncle had a friend back in the 80's - 90's who made a fake medallion and purposefully acted like he found it every year, just to taunt other hunters and drive away all happy. I know many others have done similar stunts since then... who's to say, maybe they were just done searching for the day and decided to purposefully act suspicious. We can only hope.

Where in the park were you? (At this point, we all know it is Cherokee.)

Oh, you are saying you weren't at Cherokee? Okay, forget it. You should keep your park secret.

Interesting.

Never give up or think it's found until the hotline message changes.

How many times have people claimed they say saw some act suspicious and quietly sneek out of the park?

They may have been counting steps bc of some idea one of the had from the clues or the "by the numbers" article- which is not a clue.

Well, we have for tonight. After they left, another guy who, also, witnessed their running, joined me in following their tracks. It lead to a perfect hiding spot and it was mostly straw or lamdscaping mulch stuff but one small area had a patch of snow and ice. Seemed too perfect not to be. We all called it then.
