Yes, this anagrams to “Find Cherokee Heights Park” which should be your starting point from in order to access the place where the medallion is found. Still lots of nature (Vento) references but also, the weighing of two similar things. Cheekiest or Rumpiest? Gopher or Chipmonk? Squirrel or Rabbit? Ramsey or Dakota? Judge their features because that’s what the clues have been trying to point out to us. (I hope this isn’t a reference to Justus “Justice” O’hage by the way).
Hark, ye lovers of woodland creatures.
Cheekiest? Rumpiest? Judge their features.
Gopher or chipmunk; squirrel or rabbit --
Find their home, a park they inhabit.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 9
Sneak a Peek=Jab at Jake et. al. Also, a “peak” and a “heavenly view” –you can see the Cathedral from there.
Sneak a peek at our simple rhymes,
Which could lead you to better times.
A second idea from a subtle clue --
Pause a moment for a heavenly view.
Bruce Vento. YouÂ’re looking for a path, or maybe the county line.
He worked for the homeless, the great outdoors,
And little creatures who run on all fours.
As best to say - "He was a good man."
Study his path the best that you can.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 8
Annapolis “Cuts” to the chase. The line along Annapolis is where you should be looking. King (equal rights), Sidney (down under), Baker (buns), ice down under in Lilydale, tons=bricks, Page (Street) a Doctor... are all streets leading to Cherokee.
Yon a car wash cuts to the chase,
And equal rights define a place.
Down under there's ice; don't bruise your buns.
Calling a doctor will help you tons.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 7
You can see the big number 1 from the site. Also, there are two parks, two counties, you can go to. Possible near rhyme Bent-go for Vento. Park land was donated by a rich one percenter.
Whatever may be your political bent,
For this year's hunt thank the 1 percent.
One for the money, two for the go,
Look for the medallion under ice and snow.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 6
This year, thereÂ’s also a trick, but itÂ’s not thinking outside the box of st. Paul. ItÂ’s thinking along the border of Ramsey County. Vento was a teacher. BOAT=navy=Annapolis. Wheel signs at top of hill?
"Think outside the box" was last year's clue;
This year another shift is due.
Get schooled in time - think bark on a tree -
Wheel of fortune implies you foresee
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 5
Nature floods Lilydale. Don’t looked within the “fenced in” boundaries but follow the lead of the fence/boundary itself. Silly, frilly rhymes with Lily.
Nature does what nature wills
And gobbles up man's silly frills.
"Don't fence me in" might be the song,
But spotting a fence won't lead you wrong.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 4
Not sure, ups and downs of the park? In a Rice Krispies treat?
Ups and downs are the treasure hunt story.
Fun for all; for one some glory.
If you're not clever and can't see the rhyme,
Yellow mashed rice is well worth your time.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 3
Climbing the waterfall in Lilydale in summer is forbidden, but you can ice climb in winter and you have to specifically get permission to do so. Nice sitting rocks at Vento Overlook.
You can see the red one at First National Bank.(ie., red herring as a financial term), VENTO is Italian for Wind/BLUSTER, lots of bluffs in the park. You may need to use a GPS "high tech" unit to stay on Ramsey Cty line?
If it was as simple as hacking it would be done and over and we'd be in the park, he is trying to go full fledge psychic and FORESEE what the next clue will be... that opens the door for a whole lotta .....
We were a bit surprised at the number of cars and people at King St - though the cathedral, jail, 1st all are much more visible on that end of the park. Though over all, there weren't nearly the people I thought we'd see.
Spent some time digging around the Page St. spot as were a few others. There were a few more poking around on the bluff side (we were across Cherokee from the bluff).
I am wondering if more people are working again so fewer can be out during the day.
My noodler is getting wore out this hunt. Too much chasing clue meanings and unscrambling and being in the right park for the wrong year.
I do think tonight's clue will narrow this down to a more confined space at Cherokee.
I think The famous happy holidays pair is the two holiday wreaths on the house next to king street. Thats one for the money...the next two (for the go) houses also have wreaths. King (MLK) is famous.
I think the lack of activity online is because face book freinds keeping to themselves more. Theres plenty of hunters, but they are scattered at a few different parks, even this late in the game.
Seen a lady in cherokee last night ripping the bark off of a tree. I told her you don't have to kill the tree. I'm. Pretty sure it say, "think bark on a tree" not rip the bark off of the trees. Some peoples kids.
SIDE NOTE TO ALL CC: Riddlin' and I were in Lilydale last night. Much of it is flooded and we awoke some very and Coyotes so stick with a buddy because their were several very angry pups that we awoke them. We heard screaming and fighting for about 3-5 mins. Straight. Be careful
If it ends up at Vento (I think may be possible but improbable) I think this line Get schooled in time - think bark on a tree- referes to crosby hunt med 2005 and schooled in time would mean that Vento sactuary opened in 2005
One of my thoughts about Get schooled in time - think bark on a tree: the bark protects the tree so I tried to think about things that protect, such as a building or shelter. At that point I was thinking the medallion was hidden along Samuel Morgan trail so I thought of a bus stop shelter. The schooled in time part was the bus schedule on the wall of the shelter. Kind of an off-the-wall explanation to the clue, but it's been an odd hunt.
Harriet Island/Lilydale Regional Park
and the Friends of the Parks further says there are four "sub units" (typical government talk; sub units of parks, jeeze):
Harriet Island Unit
Lilydale Unit
Cherokee Heights Unit
Navy Island Unit
So they are considered separate units. Now just pick which one.

Walk your dog or jog a bit.
Grab your honey, park and sit.
Ride a bike; exercise the kids;
Winter allows what summer forbids.
Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2013: Clue 2
The clues are going to be for a jumble of parks. Lila-Dale? Mason Dixie border? Look at the names of the two female characters: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0034862/?ref_=sr_1
Giving the clues away for a song
Turned out to be so very wrong.
So, with apology quite humble,
We'll stick to mixing clues in a jumble.
Hunt alone or council for luck,
But only one can find the puck.
Finder decides with whom to share
Like that famous "Happy Holidays" pair.

So last year's hunt proved pretty tough,
Filled with red herrings, bluster and bluff.
Expect more reprise in this year's hunt.
Use high tech gear, but no cheating stunt.
The outer limit is the Ramsey line;
On public land you'll do just fine.
Don't hunt in a place where you play a round.
Don't dig deep holes or tear up the ground
he has some big ideas about some small parks....

Also got to see Sunny out there today! Glad you could get out and hunt!
Famous is lowest on the "fame scale" but I liked me2 pointing this out. The CW does, indeed, write: "famous" on the Happy Holidays" pair. So it MUST mean more than two pine trees.

I interpreted that as the CW telling us that
we are barking up the wrong tree (at clue 6,
CW had most of us convinced on Crosby)
and to take a cue from past hunts when
the script has been flipped on us, so to speak.

Find (BELOW) Cherokee Heights Park!
Perhaps I didn't type my thoughts well out in the park.
Used to be called Lovers Lane at Cherokee..
Also:
Cherokee Regional Park was acquired between 1903 and 1914 through donations
from notable residents such as James J. Hill. The park was known as Cherokee Heights
Tourist Camp from 1920 until 1924 when it took its present form.

I think the 1% is actually James J Hill vs the national bank.
