I don't think the cluewriter even knew that they spelled "Anchors Aweigh" wrong. Clue 2 was to purposely send people to the wriong parks with no other legitimate meaning? I feel like I don't even know that I want to waste my time with this next year.

Anybody grab the chunk they chipped off the medallion? Perhaps it's worth 100 bucks or something....

Chipped Med from PP FB page; note unusual shape; red in middle.

I'm very curious to see if I could make something like that... Resin.. some kind of weird snowflake jewel floating in it... can't be all that hard. other than the resin heating and melting the plastic snowflake....

Wow.... worst clues ever. It's sad, but i now wish lisa was right about the ice climbing.

So I'm confused as to where exactly in Cherokee it was found. Not on the side by King St., right? But closer to the Annapolis/Lilydale area or what? Thanks!

Waaaaaaaahhhhh! Well, another hunt gone. Now comes the withdrawals.

It looks to be just a bit north of the Annapolis/Cherokee corner.

The “Happy Holidays” pair, Bing Crosby and Perry Como, who shared billing on the album “Happy Holidays,” is a red herring (first stanza “song … so very wrong”).

The first stanza of what? Happy Holidays the song? Or the albumn? I'm not sure I get that...

All in all, I thought the explanations were pretty decent. I still think Anapolis St is a stretch, but kudos to whoever got that!
Wed, 01/30/2013 - 8:57 AM Permalink
HunterPixie

the first stanza of the clue, don't go to the song reference

Nah, worst clues ever were the most recent Mounds hunt, in my humble opinion

and I took that photo 3 days ago  I should pay more attention to what I take photos off huh! Iphone FTW during the hunt!

The first stanza of that coue. Still not an excuse though for it to mean nothing at all.

KC0GRN

Ah thanks, I was wondering what song had that as a first stanza....

Giving the clues away for a song

Turned out to be so very wrong.

The songs are red herrings.

My rights: Fossil Map; My wrongs: Dr. Seuss, Sam Morgan, Crosby, Conway.

2003 Como- Worst clues ever. 2008 Mounds- Rival for worst clues ever. 2013-Cherokee- WTF? I sense a pattern. I think I will sit the 2018 hunt out.

So there are two evergreen trees right by where it's found, and it's not a Happy Holidays Pair. Instead it's Crosby and Como who didn't actaully preform the song together. WTF?

Everyone should remember that we have the Rehash Hash this Sunday at Newell. It goes from 11-2 but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bonfire afterwards as after all, some things can only be purged by fire.

Joel Barker? again, WTF? Some random guy with some small notoriety who's house is near the wrong end of the park.

what was worse is yesterday on my lunch break I went out and decided to canvas outside the fence since I was in my dress clothes and how I was reading the clues as "boundry" don't see the view, etc. I actually dug on the tree with the fence and wondered how the heck that could even have happened with that tree. I am mad because I didn't dig to bare ground! LOL I then moved to the pine trees and then realized I better get back to work. I shouldn't have rushed! :crying:

Story of my hunting life. At least I have had 4 of the previous years of on the spot/next to hunter vs my earlier years of right park/somewhat in the area. 2014 has got to be my year....(so I say EVERY YEAR!)

LAME "Yellow mashed rice!" I never did think it was the Crashed ice, but the clue explanation for the anagram and then the yellow teeter totter sign was a stretch.

Maybe we just need to form a team..lol with all the close findings combined its gotta land us to have it in hand! :pbpt:

I agree, that is SUCH a stretch. Lever, Achmeilis...really??

Then again the reference to the guy was a STRETCH to!

You would think so! Maybe we should try that.

Yes the mashed rice was a stretch. I think the crashed ice made more sense!

I want to know if anyone found the piece that got chipped off, or if I'll be able to swoop that up and auction that off too like the block of ice from Hidden Falls.

This was the worst hunt I have ever had in 47 years of hunting! It was hard for me to get excited much less drag myself out to the Park.

We were suppose to find a Midwest Home magazine article from 2008 to get Barker = Cherokee. I'd be OK if it was a PP article, but some random magazine article about a futurist's house?

I actually thought the clues were pretty interesting and unlike in year's passed, the explanations aren't that out of left field.
