mikey brought the pick. managed to find one up at his cabin. sue and i have the one ready to go for next year (cuz mikey wasn't sure he had one and didn't have the time to get one together), and i certainly don't expect to be reimbursed for it; call it a door prize contribution.

as for my "designated 20 bucks", i'm fine with it going into a carry-over event fund as well if we have a consensus on that.

Carry-over is fine with me, too. My only thoughts about the Mock Hunt is that there are fewer participants...although that might entice more folks to join in the fun so maybe that would be a GOOD thing! Reimbursement for the Golden Pick is certainly appropriate but I don't personally feel that all door prizes need to be reimbursed. Just my $.02

I don't think the money should be given to a random charity. We have enough of our own bills.

I think it should be held for either hall rental next year, or what I did in the past...buy some nicer door prizes for the next year. Cooler Crew sweat shirts are nice and cost about $50 (at embroidme). Or cooler crew T shirts, etc.

I think if people donate a prize, that should not be reimbursed because they chose to donate that prize.

I do not want reimbursement for the golden pick award for myself, but am not opposed to reimbursement if some one else picks up the tradition.

I don't think it should go to the mock hunt because not everyone participates in the mock hunts and the mock hunt usually generates its own prize money by the $10 to register and to win the full prize. If some one specifically donated to the mock hunt that's great, it should go there then.

I also trust David and not worried if he used some cash for the PDG.

I do prefer the money stay separate for the separate events. Just seems more logical and more open process.

Carry over is fine with me as well. That's what has always happened with the button money, but this year it fell about $40 short to cover the cost. That's a first. Usually the button donations cover the cost with a cushion for the next year.

I think it is better to keep monies separate. Makes things cleaner.

Funny to come in here tonight and be speaking of money. Today budget season started at work and I'm already sick of talking money.

My vote is to allocate all cash generated for an event to stay within that particular event. All of our events have different attendees. If someone donates to the RHB it should stay with the RHB. I like what we did this year with picking from all the tickets at the end of the prizes for one last prize. Granted this year was more of a funny prize with the 'gene' pants jacket, but future RHBs could have a guaranteed prize as the 'Big Prize'. Without having something decent on the table up front we tend to lose people's interest once they come up and get their prize. This way it keeps them interested if they could win it at the end.

I also think that past finders should get prizes just like the rest of the hunters. Maybe we could give them all the same prize when we have them pose for a fnders picture or something?

I tend to donate to every event that I'm a part of (which is all of them) but I wouldn't want to donate to the RHB and find out it helped fund Jason and Sue's hottub parties.

The snowflakes seem to be funded by a growing number of people who have previously received them during a time of loss along with others that understand their importance during a tough time of year. So I think that they are self sufficient along with AW's hunt.
