2017 - Keller Regional Park

Ernest Hemingway and Theodore Roosevelt ignored their nobel prizes, like Dylan did. Not seeing the fit yet.

The lyrics for the song Pinball Wizard say it has such a Supple wrist but it also mentions deaf dumb blind kid. deaf dumb and blind would be Helen Keller

When I was a "young boy" I played the 'silver' ball.

From Soho down to "BRIGHTON" I must have played them all.

That pinball wizard there has to be a TWIST

That pinball wizard has such a SUPPLE WRIST

It is hard to not think of Long Lake given Brighton in the lyrics. It's much more direct than inferring Helen Keller from deaf dumb and blind.

I wasn't a fan of long lake for some time but now with this and Accurate Press business right there, the dome and other things...wow, it is looking strong.

Was liking Como. Now thinking Keller. But then there's Long. Hmm... :ooh:

Lots of good noodling here today!

I am posting two maps. One from Ramsey County of Keller and one from Saint Paul Parks of Phalen.

Each map shows where one park ends and the other begins. Note all of Round Lake and Phalen Lake are under the jurisdiction of St. Paul Parks. I am guessing if it is found in one of these two parks, there may be some discussion about where Larpenteur would cross or where the Maplewood sign is along 61.

Is one East and one West? I like that one is County and one is St Paul.

One is north (Keller) and Phalen is south.

But they are both east grounds.

CLUE 8 is ===...ARCADE...

Ever since I was a young boy

I've played the silver ball

From Soho down to Brighton

I must have played them all

But I ain't seen nothing like him

In any amusement hall

That deaf dumb and blind kid

Sure plays a mean pin ball!

He stands like a statue,

Becomes part of the machine

Feeling all the bumpers

Always playing clean

He plays by intuition,

The digit counters fall

That deaf dumb and blind kid

Sure plays a mean pin ball!

He's a pin ball wizard

There has got to be a twist

A pin ball wizard,

S'got such a supple wrist

How do you think he does it? I don't know!

What makes him so good?

I was in Keller this afternoon along with four other parks. I don't know that I have enough to go on to know which part of the park to focus on yet.

I was wondering who Keller was named after:

"The ample water supply and sandstone cliffs in which storage spaces could be dug were attractive and the site once housed at least four different breweries. The most significant of these was the one built at the northeast corner of Greenbrier and Minnehaha. Andrew Keller, a native of Germany, established the Pittsburgh Brewery there in 1860. Five years later he sold his small plant to Theodore Hamm, and he and his family transformed it into one of the largest breweries in the country."

At least we are noodling clues here! Kind of difficult to have a lot of conversation going on here when there are only like 10 of us. It will be great if Jason can get a set up like this going. Meanwhile, I sure wish others would join us here. It's still only $10 a year. I don't think the prices gone up in all the years we've been on here.

So, how do you think we're going to feel it on the ground? Psychic ability? Vibrating medallion?
