Too true Step.

right now I really don't have too many great ideas- kinda think Como sounds good.

TMK are you going out tonight and where?

Sweet Baby

What are the odds of them putting it at the Fair Grounds again?

ThoseMedallingKids

Right now I'm in the scouting stage. Going out to different parks and seeing how well they fit, just getting a feel for them.

yeah that's what I've been doing also- I haven't been by Como or Phalen yet though- probably tonight

I can't get out till later tonight, and by then it will be dark. So I'm waiting for tonight's clue, and going out tomorrow. But who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to get out tonight.

Does someone have a list of the top 5 parks it might be in?

Fri, 01/26/2001 - 2:36 PM Permalink

Is this the right site?

The odds of the Fairgrounds this year are zero since its not in St. Paul.

And I do think its significant they have not mentioned a park yet.

How about the disc golf course at highland. i got these ideas in my head last night....

"Circular thinking can be one way of linking" = Discs are circular and "holes" that you shoot for are linked chain into a metal basket.

"East and west are part of our test" = there are 11 holes to the west of antonio drive and only 1 to the east (not to mention a baseball field as well)

"if this choice leaves you depressed, PLAYING might put a smile on your face" = walking the course. digging where the holes are.

  • i think the metal posts are removed during the winter, but it may be in the general area. As far as golf course goes, Disc Golf is free and is played on public land. Legal hunting ground. Just an idea!!

Hey all. I'm really surprised people are leaning toward Phalen. I guess my interpretation of the clues is that one or more of them are references to street names or names of other things around. I'm leaning toward Hidden Falls actually. I haven't scoped the park out yet . . .

    Fri, 01/26/2001 - 2:37 PM Permalink
    Nensea

Step, I don't think you can dig on the course since they still play on it in the winter. AW, are you thinking near, not in?

    Fri, 01/26/2001 - 2:38 PM Permalink
    StepDogg

The course is in the general park area

FYI the metal posts are still in the ground. I drove by there today, and not much had been walked over. I was having trouble matching today's clue with Highland. That is why I drove over there. Still haven't had much luck even after the drive around. I was really up for Highland a few days ago, but I can't seem to get the last few clues to match up.

    Fri, 01/26/2001 - 2:39 PM Permalink
    StepDogg

Jok - THE POSTS ARE STILL UP!?!?! In the guide it says they are removed for the winter. Well that's where i'm going.

    Nensea -

From my drive today, it didn't look like they had played the park in quite awhile.

    StepDogg -

I walked around a bit, but couldn't find what else might fit. My dad also was having trouble mapping the last few clues. If you come up with something, it would be great if you could post your thoughts.

Hmmm, I have a friend who plays but he didn't say where. That must not be one of the courses that are open all year. Sorry

Nensea - Highland had the only disc golf course in St. Paul

MacGrove - Any thoughts on today's clue?

If I remember correctly, you had some thoughts on yesterday's that seemed close.

Have you driven around any of the parks since yesterday?

I saw someone playing the disc golf at highland a few days ago...

Another note...someone mentioned fairgrounds....It's private property

sorry for taking so long, step. some of us have to at least create the impression of doing work :). the carousel and conservatory are both quite visible from this open area we've heard referred to as larry ho something or other. that's where i went scouting today. both are also known for their roundness->circular thinking. for the med to be there, it would have to be in the vicinity, but out of view from one of them (possibly both?) we've got the off-base guard folk working on the slide there, and coincidentally, it's right across estabrook from the frog pond.

mgm. the streets are public, though this is somewhat irrelevant, since the grounds are technically not in stp.

I haven't been out and about today...I truly think it's too early to be burning all that gas and energy...Perhaps tomorrow.

I have some strong thoughts considering downtown SP though

if it's public land, and no greens fees are required to use it, i say dig away. heck, none of the disc courses i've ever played look "well-groomed"

Another thought I want to throw out...Beware of over-thinking the clues. Not everything necessarily refers to landmarks and the like...for instance "Circular Thinking" can mean that the clue writers are going to circle the medallion the the following clues.

hi princess supper is a cooking. So here it is in a nutshell for all the world to see.... First clue, seventh line, first word...drop the "e" and add "o" = Como. Yes Regis that's the final answer!!!LOL

Over thinking the clues is so easy to do because they give us the whole day to think about it. Can't they just give us one clue at midnight and one clue at noon? That would keep us from over-thinking. It might also keep us from working. Glad to hear I am not the only one who peeks at this site while working.

It is just such an addiction. I have even contemplated taking off work on Monday. I already told them I might not be there. I even admitted that I will be there if I can't figure out the clues, but if I can, I won't be in.LOL
