Hey Fellow Coolerheads! Some of you know me, some of you don't. I'm Derick Davis, a local college student. For those of you who were frequent visitors to my site, I thank you. I am already geraing up for next years hunt. By that I mean, I will be devoting the next 10-11 months to creating an ultimate Medallion Hunt Guide. It will be titled "Medallion Hunt 2002", and it will be one of many created in the coming years. It will be published in FULL COLOR with EXTREMELY DETAILED MAPS. It will feature Past Clues & Hiding Places, Statistics for each park, Color pictures from each park, Coupons to local businesses (undetermined). It will be available in both hard copy and cd-rom version. The cd-rom version will feature everything in the hard copy, but the cd-rom will have some interactive features as well. Such as 360 degree views from the parks, and mock hunts. One thing I really want to include is bios and interviews of fellow cooler heads w/ a color picture of who they are. I would really love to hear from you if you are interested. Also, if you have any thoughts as to some features to include, or if you are willing to devote some time to help out, PLEASE contact me for details. asylummedia@hotmail.com. Again, thank you and I look forward to hearing from each of you in the coming months. Watch my site for more info in the next week.
derick one thought: the clues and their explanations are the copyrighted property of the pioneer press. make sure you acquire written permission before including them.
Also, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Treasure Hunt this spring? The best part is NO DIGGING and NO COLD WEATHER. The clues will take you to a park in St. Paul, where you will find the medallion (or something, not sure yet). The prize will be something good. If enough people are interested, i'll work on getting sponsors from businesses. Also, on top of the prize you will get a New 2002 Medallion Hunt Guide Collectors Edition as soon as it's finished :) C'mon, what more could you ask for?! Let me know what you think, either email me or visit my site and leave a message on my board. Also, watch my site in the coming weeks for further details on the guide and the hunt!
i'm no lawyer, so don't take this as legal advice, but i've done my fair share of reading of the copyright laws of the u.s. if it's published, it's copyrighted unless explicitly placed in the public domain by the author. i'd really hate to see something like that go down the toilet because proper permission wasn't obtained. do me at least this favor: inquire with the press, first. i'd be quite surprised if they weren't willing to help you out.
I thank you Ares for watching my back, but i'm just going by what my sis told me. She's a lawyer, not one who deals with copyright laws but she knows some stuff. I guess it's considered public record, so copyright laws dont apply. She could be wrong, but she could be right. I'll still contact the Pioneer Press though.
steve doesn't have any of the previous clues in his guide. as far as i know his is 100% original work. of course, he points out the various landmarks used in previous hunts in the guide.
Wow, can't believe there was still so much slogging to do the day after the hunt! And our network went down at work so I wasn't able to keep up all day.
Terry- Good thinking, I don't want to have to drive to go potty. Allison- Don't worry, you didn't miss much. Me at my usual charming self I guess *shrugs*

Hello Bee !
steve doesn't have any of the previous clues in his guide. as far as i know his is 100% original work. of course, he points out the various landmarks used in previous hunts in the guide.
bee, i'm just gonna cocoon up in my coffin for the next 11 months :)
Hello!
Bee! How's life after the frog pond?
Green - where are you? I have a question for you. Do we have a port-a-potty?
what, terry, you mean the trees are no good :)
Might get pretty cold in those trees.
Great the whole park will see me squating LOL
mebbe we can get a newer pic, crazy lol
Maybe somebody can bring some charcoal
ARES- LOL. that would be a good pic.
Or corn husks?
Maybe an old Sears catalog?
Wow, can't believe there was still so much slogging to do the day after the hunt! And our network went down at work so I wasn't able to keep up all day.
That would make it more easy to finish the job.
:: ares inserts foot into mouth ::
Terry- Good thinking, I don't want to have to drive to go potty. Allison- Don't worry, you didn't miss much. Me at my usual charming self I guess *shrugs*
did you make it through everything, allison?
Kids- I thought you left!
Hey Allison!
I was surprised too...but it seems we could rename this board the matchmaker.
Terry, Bob: I have two propane stoves, two burners each.
