wow, thats really good i guessed it was newell, when it turned ou to be como. (least i didnt promise to eat the clues, wink wink), im starting to get very pumped, not pyscho pumped yet, but almost. Might of freaked out brenda valentine here at augsburg with my preumptive pumpness, but it happens. i must faten myself up before the hunt, more beer!!!
WW, let me clear the air, the new board started in 2000, the year it was found in Newell, that is what I was referring to, not 2001, sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, what are you studying at Augsburg?
Jake- I second your motion.
Do you know what's great- it is 96 days away and I am already getting that excited feeling I get right before the first clue comes out. Take care all!
I am ready to hunt!!!!!!!! I am going to stick with my guess last year that it will be hid at Harriet Island, but it is only a guess. I back it up with nothing except that it has a good a chance as any other park.
My friend Cory is coming this year, he already has the medallion hunting fever, and is a good digger. Plus, he doesn't complain too much.
I HAVE MY CAR, AND LISCENSE TOO!!!!!!!!!! This just means that I don't have any more excuses to not find the medallion, so I guess I will(sigh). I figure I can sleep in my car, and be at the park 24/7!!!!!!!!! Good idea... right??????
See some of you at Mc Governs, others at the park, and yet others at the party I throw myself with the prize money I get from finding the medallion. CYA.
90 odd days, huh? Geez-LAWEEZ, but I'm snot ready! Seems like just yesterday I was freezing my arse off out in that snow and cold!
Hay, MJ!!! Nice to read ya! How R Ewe?????!!!
Guess some o'us are gatherin' at McGoverns tonite. Heard they put up our t-shirts I gave them... 'Bout time... Only took'um two friggin' years... Ah, well. Better late than never, I suppose.
We gatherin' 7:00ish? Sounds like a good time. Camo Crew, you lurkin'? Would be nice to see you big boys again.
Tim, what's this driving crap? YOU'RE TOO YOUNG!!! Gods, I'm getting old... Seems like just yesterday you were a kid. SHEESH!!!
Be there or be square, you guys. McGoverns tonite. The usual: come when you can, leave when you want.
Is life so lame that people worry about a medallian hunt months away.....and they think about this all year long? Sorry, this shouldn't irritate me, but it does.
Tentative- Trent Tooley would like to see all of us at McGoverns sometime Saturday night, October 27th. Everyone please spread the word. If there are any questions, please email me at inge01@aol.com........ time is TBD.

It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. - Samuel Clemens (AKA: Mark Twain)
First of all, Jackie and I would like to thank all of you for participating in the documentary -- for being so game, so polite, so understanding, for letting us follow you and annoy you. All of you have just been awesome. It's been so great meeting you, working with you, hanging out with you.
Now on to the movie...
We showed 21 minutes of "No Time for Cold Feet" on October 2nd at the IFP Market here in New York. Due to the WTC attacks, many industry reps from L.A. did not attend the market and general turnout was unusually and depressingly low. That said, our screening was packed!!! We screened in the biggest theater, standing room only (people were sitting in the aisles), and the audience loved it. (If you need independent confirmation of this, e-mail Jake -- his cousin who lives in New York came to the screening -- unbeknownst to us).
Throughout the rest of the week, Jackie and I overheard people talking about the hunt, the characters, and the film. There were over 300 projects at the market, and they were talking about "No Time for Cold Feet!!!" Judging by this response, we think that once we're finished (and that could be awhile from now -- please be patient), we'll be able to secure distribution, and this film will play numerous film festivals.
I will be in the Twin Cities October 25-29. Jackie is once again a finalist in the Minnesota Independent Film Fund (check this week's City Pages -- this is her third straight year as a finalist, and it would be nice if she actually won it this time), and her finalist interview is on Friday the 26th. Jackie's pregnant and can't travel, so I'll be there for the interview (Jackie's calling in).
Green, DDY, Jake and I are planning to hang out at McGovern's on Saturday night (the 27th) at around 7p.m. It would be great to see other Coolerheads there. Rumor has it that Terry V. and Inks are dropping by too...
For the 2002 hunt we are hoping to come with four cameras (as compared to two last year). This will allow us 20-hour-a-day coverage (from 7a.m. to 3a.m.). We are also coming earlier -- for Clue 1 (not Clue 4 like last year).
If there is little or no snow this winter, then we will come with just one or two cameras. For our film's sake at least, we can only hope that the Hider-Clue Writer is slick enough to make this hunt go to Clue 11 or 12. It would greatly help the film to get the crowds, the locusts, etc. -- all of which we missed during last year's hunt.
If the 2002 hunt is as good as or better than the 2001 hunt, we will also cut together that one as a separate film. Jackie and I are even toying with the idea of filming the hunt every five years, so that we would have a history like Michael Apted's famous British documentaries "7 Up," "14 Up," "21 Up" etc. We'll just have to see how everything plays out, what kind of funding we can get in the future, etc.
We've gotten a number of e-mails asking when we're going to show the 2001 hunt. Originally we had hoped to show the 2001 hunt film either prior to or right after the 2002 hunt. As of right now, we've decided against showing it before the 2002 hunt since we know that people become incredibly self-conscious when they see themselves on the screen, and we don't want hunters to be affected by the 2001 right before our filming the 2002 hunt. And we're still not sure if we're going to be ready to show something after the hunt -- it all depends on how much time Jackie and I have. Please remember that editing is time-consuming, and we both have full-time jobs. We're working as quickly as we can.
Once again, thanks so much everyone, and I look forward to seeing you guys next weekend.
ahhh, we need another prehunt meeting, sometime between this weekend, and of course the hunt. that being said, i can go onto the next item in my agenda,,CONGRADULATIONS ON THE MOVIE so far. and um, um, i think thats it for now, ill be back in town on sunday night.
Hey tim congradulations on the big joe, oh and on the car too. nothing better than sleeping out in the car when its -10+ out, wait, did i word that right??. all me needs is a cellular hook up for my laptop, and im golden, unfortnatly, ill have to stay candy coated for now. oh man,,, how many more days is it?? 87ish?? i cant handle that, im going insaine. too much frustration too early, its used up before i can actually dig!!! like that scene in slap shot, when they get in the fight before the national anthem,"too much too soon"
Wright Winger...... ya gotta have my attitude..... you just have to make it through this semester.........whoa!!!!!!!! I got a buzz......... I was drinking Jakermeister tonight!
Tim- congratulations on the car and the license, I remember being on this when you were, like 13 years old, I feel kind of old now. But congratulations indeed, you have freedom now.
Jake, the jager isn't bad, it just tastes TOO much like black licorice for my liking. I agree with the "you just have to make it throught the semester" attitude, but once the next semester starts, the hunt follows soon thereafter. Priorities...... Boy I am going to miss school during that time. I hope that is my attitude for the next hunt, I know it wasn't for this past years. School took priority, but thats another story for another time. SCMDs.
man, i hate spring semister so much, cuz it starts the 2nd week (the dirty week) of the hunt. and it really sucks to miss the first week of classes in a new semister. i should get some kinda patition to have that week a break.
WW- where do you go to school at? I go to the 'U' and our classes start on the 22nd of January, the hunt will probably start on Sunday, January 20, 2002. Which means the hunt is 87 days away! I'll figure out what I'll do when the time comes.
I start school January 14th,,,,,, the key is to tell them EXACTLY what you are going to be doing in class.... just today I was telling a school counselor about the hunt and she said her neighbors had found it several years ago..... (Como, 1980)
Scribe, that darn Miss Cleo, when do you believe her and when don't you, right? My uncle just crawled out of his Y2K shelter last month, boy was she wrong on that one!
HI All! Sorry we couldn't make it saturday,we had rabid teenagers take over our house! Rushmore,so sorry to hear about your uncle!LOL! Tell him instead of listening to her he should read my back posts instead! Rush,is Mickeys even open this time of year??:)MMMMM,greasy O'Brian hashbrowns!
man, darn people west of the river, they dont know of mickeys, they dont know the hunt, and when they look at the clues, they think of only places off limits!!! i should switch to saint thomas just so i can hunt better, hehe
Hi all - I had a thought that it would be kind of nice to incorporate something patriotic into this years clues. With the right intelligence they could use us hunters to find Bin Laden. (provided that he's hiding in some snowbank somewhere - where I would be if I were him anyway) C ya
WW, I live in Burnsville, have for the last eighteen years, first five in Minneapolis. I've been hunting since I was seven. When the hunt rolls around and I talk about it to people in the south metro, they are totally clueless. Thankfully, I am cultured about the Twin Cities, hence, my excitement for the hunt.
Do you know what I get a kick out of, the people that say "I bet it's at Mounds park"

Hmmmmmm . . . . who was there when I said it was in Como, on the 2nd clue????
Was that you Jakey, and the Green one . . . . LOL!
Well, I'll be darn! It *was* found in Como! My oh my! (No brag, just fact!) LOLOL!
Hi WW, Ian, Terry, Scribe, et. al. The next hunt is just 90 days away! I've got the fever, as I can see everyone else does too!
Later!

So, here I am, like a fool, slogging through last years posts, when I come across the following eerie post:
Scribe wrote on January 22, 2001, at 8:43pm, in post #11814: "There you are Terry! It's under a skyscraper! I still say it's in Afganastan."
I just found the post to be.....well....I don't know....just weird. I am going to bed now, as I should have two hours ago. Have a good night all.
