oh Green....yoo hoooooooo the green genius?!?!?

Last year the medallion was in Como. Not Newell! Hehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!

I'm thinking it may be in some small more obscure park this year. Langford or the likes? There's Dunning...and that's all brand spanking new. MLK maybe??

Oh Terry! Let's not even get into the Mocha Cocoa debate!LOL!

Seriously,MLK is not ideal for all sorts of reasons, main one bein that it's a rec center and bunch of schools! And now with security the way it is.....there ain't no way!

Well, the website doesn't look as cool as I thought it would, oh well! Scribe, I would have to agree with you on MLK. I did a cost/benefit analysis of what it would cost to build the tree forts: Our time and money for all 67 of them. ANd I figure, we would have to win the hunt twice to cover the cost. Therefore, I think a new plan is necessary. Lets just shadow every person that leaves the PP.

I'm on it Rushmore! I got my black cape and night vision goggles all ready!

Unless.....the mighty PP has a covert op outside their own vicinity? Perhaps the one who hides it is...::i GASP::....from the other side of the river??

An unthinkable thought!

Hey Ian.

Saw your geocache page. You'll have to tell me more about that sometime. My buddy has a GPS thingamabobber I could borrow.

Morning Ralph

Don't tell me you've never heard of a thingamabobber?

Wed, 11/14/2001 - 11:19 AM Permalink
King Boreas aka Ian

My GPS thingamabobber is taking up a lot of my 'spare' time...but it's really a trip...oops, space captain word. Anyway, I'm getting out to parks I never knew existed, and exploring ones that I never had. Gotta start going the Saint Paul way tho, could have extra benefits early next year.

Yes, but that term is not politically correct....

wow jake, your just full of little details, i nominate you to design most of the tree forts

Thu, 11/15/2001 - 10:55 PM Permalink

I second that nomination!

I think my energies would be better spent assigning people to forts and making a decision as to when people are deployed to the forts (I am a hunt strategy expert) although I enjoy engineering as a hobby......... so you never know!!!

Fri, 11/16/2001 - 12:14 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

see i love to build, and skip the engineering part! lol

hmm, maybe if we just had a camera at every park, linked to one central tree fort, we could cut down on man power, but up on cost.

Hi All, It sure is great to see some many diggers still posting. It looks like the hunt will start Jan 20th is this correct??

Don't limit your thinking to just St. Paul. It is due to be somewhere else, White Bear Lake would be close...

Its getting colder and that means one thing THE HUNT WILL SOON BE ON!!

"""Ian - 12:25am Nov 7, 2001 CST (#28071 of 28116) It's none of my business what you think of me. Saint Paul

40 rec centers, 9 parks

Ramsey County

5 regional parks, 9 county parks, 1 special use facility, 5 regional trail corridors

etc. etc. etc."""

Whats the special use facility?

Well, I just got home from work and have nothing to do on Thanksgiving! So I am going to go give thanks to the hunt by visiting some non-St.Paul Parks!!! Sad, isn't it! (-:

Thu, 11/22/2001 - 11:59 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

non saint paul parks!! hogwash! anywho, um, um, still working on inveting perfect treasure tool, ideas still at 0, cuz flame thrower just too darn dangerious.

Fri, 11/23/2001 - 5:28 PM Permalink
King Boreas aka Ian

Yeah, it might start someone on FIRE, or burn their jacket or something.

Fri, 11/23/2001 - 9:31 PM Permalink
wrightwinger

yeah EXACTLY, i hate when that happens,

Fri, 11/23/2001 - 9:54 PM Permalink

Wright Winger, I would be game to get together to try and invent a tool....... (seriously) And the funny thing is I have the papers to apply for a patent. If you are serious let me know.

Fri, 11/23/2001 - 10:51 PM Permalink
wrightwinger

Im fully serious, but i just havent figured out what a tool needs to do. at the moment i like to carry different tools depending upon how light, or think the snow is. perfect tool needs to be able to straight into the groud vertically, yet be able to have some hoe action going on, and maybe shovel as well. of course, flames shoot out to melt snow is probally an attachment we could sell to people later. but i actually am serious about trying to come up with something, just nothing usefull enters mind.

Ares: I'd say we're all pretty darn crazy for being this excited 2 months out, but hey, what else is there to look forward to during the winter?

The beast lay dormant while the ground lay bare. Thoughts raced deep within the mind. The passion was building, growing. The heavens released its snowy blanket upon the land, and the beast was awoken. The beast knows its prey will soon come. That medallion will be out there, oh yes. Soon, it will be time to find it....

Hey all, I've been meaning to check on everyone here, but my life has been kind of crazy since the hunt. Hope all the coolerheads are well, and that we will prevail this year :)
