Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
I dont know if I have a favorite previous hunt. Cherokee was fun because it was near my old stomping grounds, and that is my first time really getting into the hunt. Conway was fun, being there for so long, digging and digging, seeing everyone out there digging up the ice rinks the night before it was found. Newell was the worst, because I missed out on it some, and it was found so quickly. Last year was really fun because I got to know a lot more people better. The friendships made would probably make it the best.
I liked Harriet Island back in 1996. Last one to go the distance, and it was way cold. Sad end to it when the two hunyucks found it with no button or mittens or hats. Still..a good 12 day hunt.
Nope,L.L. I don't...I didn't have many friends at H-M,not my type of crowd....ah but they were fun to screw with mentally! All that hair bleach is not good for brain cells!:)
And of course there was Cherokee - the year of the first rehash bash. That was the year that Maureen Hursey and her brother Steve found it. The year of double-division, mode, dome demo, and Annapolis!
Oh..and then there was the time where I picked up the earmuffs on the Capital Mall hunt. My mom told me that they weren't mine and to put them back in the snow where I had found them. I'll never forget that year.
you are an only child, huh? well, that explains a lot. (ps. do u realize you have been on your computer hrs and hrs...take a break, step outside and get some fresh air. dont worry, your precious computer will be waiting 4 you when u come back.
I can just imagine the spotters that year. "Well Fred, looks like a short year. The little girl has the earmuffs. Give the Mrs. a hello for me, will ya? Oh wait, what is she doing? She's putting it back? Boy will she be kicking herself! Since we're going to be here longer, care to go get us some coffee?"
I don't even think there were spotters out there yet. We were about the only group out there at that point. Very early in the hunt and the snow was about an inch of fluff...easily kicked through...no digging necessary.
llady, i'm with you on conway. me and the posse i had then were right there behind the backstop it was at. dummy me says there's no way it'd be there because there wasn't anything to hide it at. mm-hmm. the lesson: never second guess yourself. of course i've second-guessed myself all too many times since then.
My fam has been in the hunt for some time now but they all have fizzled out. My cousin found it at phalen back in the 70's, and my brother was near it 4 out of 5 years in the 80's but now all they do is sit at home while i talk about about going out but never do.
Now if we are talking about mind games and the PP how can you say this statement with any credibility? Isn't the whole point to throw us off? So why are there any untouchables?
