Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Good Morning!
I just have to step in here and say something about all the dissension rising here.
Everyone's opinion has value.
Everyone. Young, old, in-between.
Everyone has the right to voice those opinions about the hunt and the Winter Carnival that it is a part of. That's what this forum is about.
If you believe you have knowledge beyond what someone is saying, share the knowledge and let's knock off the chastising.
No one wants to come in here and share the fun of the hunt with a bunch of know-it-alls who just tear down what someone else shares.
The hunt went on long...very long before this forum was even a twinkling in someone's eye. It's been a fun tool the past few years. Let's not ruin it.
Everyone who participates here is a member of the cooler crew. This is not an exclusive club.
Every single member of this crew should be treated with respect whether one agrees with something that is said or not. If you don't agree, state why, again share your knowledge, agree to disagree all the while being respectful and if one can't muster being respectful because someone said something you can't be respectful about, ignore it!
I do understand the passion felt here. Passion needs to be tempered though with some sort of common sense, courtesy and respect or that passion will drive others away.
That is NOT what the PP had in mind when they provided this forum...at least that's my humble opinion.
This hunt has been a part of my life from early on when I would talk about clues with my Mother who went out and hunted during the night with her friend. There has never been a hunt from the time I was a little kid that I missed participating in one way or another.
I participated in this forum at least a couple years before most of you found this place. I have found it a fun way to share ideas. I'd hate for it to become some place where people wouldn't feel comfortable sharing opinions.
Remember...the same thing seen by several eyewitnesses is seen from different perspectives. Does that make one right and the other wrong? No! It's a matter of perspective and perception.
Nice site mk. The only problem I had was that the pics are a little dark and hard to see. But, it may be that the sun is shining brightly on my monitor, and everything's a little hard to see. :-)

I couldn't agree more- differences are what makes the world go round!
Well I just spent the past two or so hours reading all the posts so far... I can't belive there is nearly 3500 posts and the hunt has not even began yet. I am getting very excited for this hunt to begin... I can't wait to start to have endless nights of no sleep and while at work wondering if someone has found it or if I have another night to boggle the mind and chat it up in here until the next clue is posted and then run out to multiple locations in a night. I LOVE THIS STUFF
Good morning, everyone. Pulled out my medallion binder last night to look things over and start to refresh my "thinking hat". Boy, a year sure does go by fast. The PP hiders are going to have to be clever this year. I really don't think we'll have an inch of snow on the ground even with prospects of snow in the forecast.
Well, I guess I'm a little more optimistic with the number of posts. I just figure that the number of people will increase as the hunt date gets closer. Therefore, I would say double the amount of posts for one week.
Steve, I visited your site yesterday. Harriet Island picts look great. It kinda got me thinking that Harriet might be a good place. Let people know that it's open with a new look. What do you think? Also, any updates to the book that I can get?
Well I have just taken some time off work this year to hunt. I have always done it at night now I will be able to hunt in some daylight... sure will be nice... with no snow... Light is needed.
PD: don't you feel a little lit down by Mother Nature for not providing the hunt with her usual snow coverage. It just doesn't seem right not having to move around tons of snow.
there is something wrong though with this lack of snow, td. but i must admit. because of the lack of it, i did let my itchy clutch foot get to me and took my mustang out of the garage this morning.
T.D. I sure do feel let down... I am having a hard time with this and not just for the hunt my outdoor activities in the Winter time are not happening due to the lack of cold and snow. I WANT SNOW!!! MAKES FOR FUN DIGGING!!!!!!
Hey, I don't want no stinkin lesson, I just got out of a very long and very serious relationship. Ares, I can relate to your statement of: she's still very much in my life, and at the same time so far away from it. Bask in the glory of freedom my friend.
I knew you'd take the 'stang out soon. Good for you dude.
PD, I've heard the depression statement from a lot of people. Not much fun for those who are just waiting for the foot of snow. Many have been going out of state just so they can have a little fun. It's just not right!!!!
Goodmorning to all, I am new to the whole winter carnival digging scene, so I am going to need some pointers to help me get started. I think for my first year, I am glad that there is not going to be much snow, I might get a little overwelmed with all that work that is involved in finding this medallion!
its not so much coming out of the relationship rush, its that i never got into it when i had the chance. and despite the fact she's still in my life, the window's kinda closed up on it.

Now...I'll get off my soapbox and get to work.
terry, don't leave that soapbox. ever.
Thanks Terry.

Thanx Frosti! It was really gloomy yesterday, not quite sure how to use the settings on the camera yet. I'll work on it.

This hunt could go very long though, think of all the loose leaves, branches, dirt, and mud at some of the parks. IT will be in there.
Just another friendly reminder: $3.34 can win you $10,000. So, go out and buy your button and register it by Jan. 20 which is next Sunday.
It's just not the same as sifting through inches of snow and hitting a piece of garbage and just hoping that it's in there.
The excitement is growing... :-)
Scribe's official bet for snow coverage the first day of the hunt:
1inch and melting
I would hope there's more than an inch, but my feeling is that there will be zero inches on the ground.
How much we wagering?
Pride, how much you got?
hey scribe. ya know, tim actually accused you of having me trained better than your own husband. please correct him.
treasure digger, i'm with you on that. may even be less than 0 on the ground.
$1
morning steve.
Morning all
Ares, don't fall prey to their evil plan!! Their evil, all evil!!!
Instead of wagering on how much snow, maybe we should guess how many posts there will be by 12:01 AM on Sunday the 20th.
Their evil, all evil!!!
you think i don't already know that, rush?

I would say that the number of posts will be around 9783.
maybe we should guess how many posts there will be by 12:01 AM on Sunday the 20th.
well, considering there have been about 400 posts a day lately, i say we'll be somewhere around 6000.
I'm sure you do Ares, Have you gotten over her yet?
Well, I guess I'm a little more optimistic with the number of posts. I just figure that the number of people will increase as the hunt date gets closer. Therefore, I would say double the amount of posts for one week.
yeah i've been over scribe for a long time. :)
oh you mean the other one. um no. prolly never will either.
oh and sorry about that scribe, rush walked right into that one.

scribe, you wanna give the lesson to rush that you gave me.
seriously though rush, my problem is that she's still very much in my life, and at the same time so far away from it.
