Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Liquor Lady
good morning everyone. for all those people that I upset yesterday I am truely sorry and I will try to keep my posts on the subject from now on, but I would like to say this..... Jan 12th was the only day that was out of conversation and I am sorry for that, Jan 11th I only had 10 posts not 73 like someone said, I'm not sure who's posts were being counted but they werent mine, you can look for yourself. I have slogged ALL of the posts and 90% of them were about the hunt/cooler crew or just general conversation with other people. please before you make attacks on other people and their family's make sure you have your facts straight before you post them. with that said I hope we can move on and all be sociable. In the future if I do or say something to upset someone, please do not be so cruel as you were this time, things can be said without attacking someone and making false statements.
THX I think they are upset because I was goofing off yesterday, I guess I can understand that point of it I just don't get why they needed to be so mean about it.
marly the pics are great, gonna be a great site for treasure hunters when I'ts done. the only feedback I can give you is maybe the address of the park at the bottom of the pic incase someone want's to go scope it out.where is western sculpture park anyway? I have never heard of that one.
But I'll be quiet now about that, lest Scribe or Tim or Ares have some comment ;)
no, kids, ares has nothing to say about it. after all, people who live in glass houses should, um, get dressed in the dark. scribe is the one who'd have a comment. but seriously though, once you find your soul mate, never let her go. and if you can get the hunt in her blood, thats all the more reason to never let her go.
Of course! There is no giving it up!! There is no 12 step program for Medallion Fever. It's with you for life!
definitely!
and i'm just curious, kal, why do you use mk's account?
The past two weeks has been good preparation for the hunt because since the board has been up my sleeping habits have been thrown out of whack. Bring it on.
They won't do it from MomPress. Too obvious. Even the totally-clueless-and-in-the-dark green one could then find it.
King & Queen, I'd like a bumper sticker! That's a COOLER idea! I wish I'd thought o'it... Make that two stickers. Brown gets one, too.
Kids, I can show you how to make a quilt by hand...
I am exhausted - I worked all nite. All nite long I dreamed about helping with the film. One part was everybuddy was drinking Cokes and Trent went into a tissy because you could read "CocaCola" on all the cans. He made us all turn the cans so you couldn't read the name - whethr we were holding the cans or they were sitting on a pic-a-nic table, or whatever. We were kind'a forgetting this, not letting the name show, so Trent took the cans and mushed them so they only fit in our hands only one way, that being so you couldn't read "CocaCola"!!!!
Not a speck o'snow on the ground in the far, far east yet...
Ter, I never even thought o'the muffs - about The Med being moved! Really! I thought you were telling me about some other time. Maybee that was someone else... Did you hear any sirens or anything? I'm sure that's one Spotter that was in definite need o'CPR!
A week from today we should at least have the County/City thing figured out....
Marley - I too would like a bumper sticker!! I've been trying to get someone to have some interest in making some up over the years but no one has ever bitten. It would be SO cool when you're out cruising parks to see a bumper sticker on the car in front of you and know you have a common bond (beside the hunt). How about just a simple "Coolerheads Prevail"?? I don't know what the rules are for using the images off the PP site, but I'd hate to see anyone get in trouble for something improper.
Green - There have been many, many times the medallion has been moved. Tossed with the snow or the clump of dirt/clay/grass has been strewn from it's original hiding place. It's bound to happen. Not intentional by the hiders but unintentionally by the hunters.
When those earmuffs were um...moved...it was very, very early in that hunt. Maybe third day. We were about the only folks around there...and the snow was no more than an inch deep. Light, fluffy, kick through it with your feet snow. I don't think the spotters had taken their places yet.
You know how when something is rather traumatic or big events in one's life occur you can see the whole thing in your mind as though it were yesterday? Almost like time standing still for that moment? That's how that event is for me.
I just added some huge detailed images to the site. I mean Huge. Its big (and maybe slow on some of your browsers) but if you click on #6 on the new Harriet Island Map, you'll see a detailed panoramic of the river/skyline from the park.
I've also got a page that will contain updates to the parks since the last edition. You can get at it through the "200 photos" page.
You may want to print these photos and add 'em to your guide.
I'm impressed with the City's focus on park redevelopment. Como's had quite a bit of renovation in the last few years and the development down at the river is massive. My guess is that these budgets are soon to vanish in light of the recessionary times.
and speaking of redevlopment, i suspect phalen's not gonna be it this year. i was out on wheelock pkwy this morning past the playground. where what's going up, but a brand new building. mebbe next year.
i'm thinking as though it would be a more tempting target for next year, steve. kinda like the theories that have been going this year for it being on h.i. because it was recently redevloped.
Nothing, that I know of, Tim. I've just never liked the food at McGovern's. Most o'The 'Heads really do, tho, especially the hot turkey sammychizz. And the pork chops.
Their food's like too mass produced tasting for me. I just don't like it.

Mornin LL, just goin out to take some park pictures before it(hopefully) snows.
Kal made some updates to our site, got the request page working, and made a few other changes. Check it out and let us know what you think.

For anyone that hasn't noticed, not one single clue has come out for the 2002 treasure hunt yet.
This doesn't leave a lot to discuss as far as the "Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt 2002".
THX I think they are upset because I was goofing off yesterday, I guess I can understand that point of it I just don't get why they needed to be so mean about it.

Ahhh. LL-Good Suggestion! Will do!Thanx
Western Sculpture Park is Between Fuller Ave and Ravoux Ave, by Sears.
OK, I'm leaving now, really

Ares,Kal and Mk's account info is off topic....
Ask yourself is this something that I just want to say or is it something that holds interest to the group?
LOL!
No comment's here.:)
Ares,Kal and Mk's account info is off topic....

Terrific!!! My guess is that it will be hidden tonight.
so who's gonna follow folks out of the ppress tonite?
Good Afternoon Fellow Hunters!
There's this strange, white stuff on the ground!
Good narming, 'Heads.

And coreographed snow borders...

Gotta go fro for a bit...
Good Afternoon!

Like frozen; kind'a slo-mo, I bet. Would be for me.
Howdy, Mom!
Snowed here, then quit. Just a hint of a dusting.

Ter, Steve, anybuddy...
Isn't the Western Sculpture Garden, between Fuller and Ravoux Avenues, by Sears, rite there just north o'McGovern's?
Yep. It's across Merriam from Sears.
About a 3, 4, five minute drive from McGovern's, wouldn't you guess?
Do you know if ittiz lit? Ittiz open until 11:00 PM, so guessing ittiz, but only guessing. Don't know for sure.
I have it listed in the Guide (page 74). Got a photo too.
Sorry...p 75.
Well...it should be p.75.
Ittiz not on *my* page 74... That's "Other Parks."
Keep looking...you'll find it.
:( Nope. Not on page 75 either, unless it's under a different name?
Ah! "Central Village Park"! Thanks!
Its under the "Western Park and Central Village Park". Insignificant but worthy of a mention in the "Other Parks" pages.
Why is there any talk of this park?
Not for hunting purposes. Need some place close to McGovern's on Sat for filming prior to The Pre-Dig Gig, and during.
Did not mean to get anybuddy all hetup, if I did, that The Med's gonna be hid there.
Oh..gotcha.
Nah. Not gonna be at Central Village Park! Gonna be at Battle Creek, or one o'those nord east rec centers if outta the City! :D
and speaking of redevlopment, i suspect phalen's not gonna be it this year. i was out on wheelock pkwy this morning past the playground. where what's going up, but a brand new building. mebbe next year.
It could still be there Ares.
Hunter (the dog) and I are gonna head out and have a run.
i'm thinking as though it would be a more tempting target for next year, steve. kinda like the theories that have been going this year for it being on h.i. because it was recently redevloped.
Just taking a quick break from domestic duties here...
Irvine Park is nearer McGovern's than that one is on Marion by Sears. Kellogg Park might be nearer McGovern's too and it's lit better.
So is this it? The white stuff is melting. Hmmmmmmm
Thanks, Terry!
It did here, melt. Pretty depressing.
I'm tired o'dogs at The Gopher... And I'm not fond o'McGovern's food... LOL!!! And Mickey's is out...
Where's a good, cheap, nummy place to eat downtown? Can be a dive, if cheap with good food. Actually, prefer dives/mom and pop joints.
I'd go for Whiteys, but Brown won't go near them...
Nothing, that I know of, Tim. I've just never liked the food at McGovern's. Most o'The 'Heads really do, tho, especially the hot turkey sammychizz. And the pork chops.
Their food's like too mass produced tasting for me. I just don't like it.
When is Trent coming? How many cameras is he bringing? I have heard a ton of different stories...
